Richard Martindale wrote in to tell me of book he owns titled "The Lady of the Lake" by Sir Walter Scott. On the inside of the book is handwritten notes saying that the book was acquired by Celia Baker on 3 January 1896 and in the following month was read by Celia, by Ethel Reynolds, and by Carrie Gordion. Not only does this show the women living in the area in the time period listed by perhaps shows a close relationship between the three.
