Col.
Jewell Post GAR held a public installation last Friday night,
to which a number of friends were invited. A big supper was serverd at six o'clock, a roast pig being the big feature
of the supper. The ladies of the WRC throughly understand the are of getting up a fine feed and this one was up to
the usual in excellency. After the installation reminences of army life, shorty witty, speeches were engaged in
which made the evening a very pleasant occassion.

G.A.R.
Boys Banquet
The Grand Army boys of the county gathered at Bandon Saturday for a get-together meeting and banquet. Those attending
from Myrtle Point were: John Noel and wife, W.A. King and wife; A.M. Arnold and wife, and Mrs. L. Prey.
In speaking of this gathering we can not overlook the fact that it was only last month that Mr. Arnold had his
80th birthday anniversary, but he is spryer and can out jump and out run many a younger man of half his age.
