Coos County Order of Eastern Star Known Members of Coos County Masonic Lodges (Eastern Star Members) Coos County, Oregon   History of the Powers Mystic Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Coos County, Oregon      Mystic Chapter, OES, celebrated its 25th anniversary of founding on Wednesday evening in Masonic hall, with about 70 guests present. The chapter room was lovely with flowers and greenery, from an arch of which at the front of the room hung large silver numbers “25”.      Following opening ceremonies, distinguished guests were introduced, Dr. June Martin, past grand matron and present grand lecturer and Mrs. John Bergen, grand Adah both of Coos Bay; Mrs. Henry Rosslow, jurispridence committee, and Elton Schroeder, revision of laws committee, both of Myrtle Point, matron and patron, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cochrane of Beulah, Coquille; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Whittaker of Elgin, Myrtle Point. Mrs. Floyd Eaton matron of Sweet Home chapter, who is also a past matron of Mystic chapter.      Chapter [sic; Charter] members of Mystic present were Mrs. S.M. Grims of Oceanlake, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lidell of Eugene, Mrs. Ida Levine of Eureka, Calif., Mrs. A.W. Burton of Eugene, Mrs. George Leingor of Corvallis and Mrs. John Purvis and Mrs. Hazel Lewis of Powers. They were given addenda and gifts of sterling.      Seventeen past matrons were honored, together with four past matrons [sic: patrons]. They included Mrs. Levine, Mrs. Purvis, Mrs. Laingor, Mrs. Grimes, Mrs. Lewis, Ed Lidell, Mrs. Ray hall and Mrs. Noble Rovang of Coquille, Mrs. Henry Moe of Martinez, Calif., Mrs. Eaton and Mrs. James Sheridan of Sweet Home, Mrs. Claire Lehmanowsky of Myrtle Point, Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Gamwell of Yachats, Mr. and Mrs. George Barton of Myrtle Point, Mrs. James Gamwell, Mrs. E.R, Hannon, Mrs. A.D. Rolfe, Mrs. Kenneth Rolfe and George Aubin of Powers. They were given an addenda in which each lighted a candle for their year on the huge decorated birthday cake, centered by a star, and each was given a gift. Short talks were given by cisitors and the meeting adjourned to the Rebekah Fellowship hall were refreshments were served at a table decorated with gladiolas and lighted candles. Many gifts were received by the chapter whose present worthy matron is Mrs. Archie Lane and worthy patron, A.L. Burch.
