Riverton School

Wayne Robinson, school superintendent for the past three years, was given an emergency operation for acute appendicitis Wednesday evening and is at the Coquille Hospital convalesing. Mrs. Robinson, a qualified teacher who holds a "life" certificate for teaching in the high schools of Oregon, has taken over his duties at school. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson taught together in Lane and Wallowa counties for six years before coming to Riverton 1936. Mrs. Robinson retired from the teaching profession except for some substitute work. Mrs. Bean of Riverton is keeping their daughter, Mariyne?? during the day time while Mrs. Robinson teaches.

Those on the girls' volleyball team are Marguerite Carlson, Mayme ???er, June White, Genevieve Fetch, ???en Haga, Margy Rogers, Zetta ???son and Geraldine Guerin. Substitutes were Doris Morgan and ???ie Dean.

The boys practicing on the Riverton 1st string are Keith Young, Orville Young, James Staten, Warren Smith, [Bobbie? *1] Georgis, Theron Miller, Junior ???ert, Dick Bemetz, Jim Childers is manager.

The second team consists of Orion ?iley, Ronald Holbrook, Philip ???ders, Erwin Plaep, Bill Edwards, ??? Carpenter, Philip and Winston ???son.
