| Hayes, (son) | Last week, says the Port Orford Tribune, while one of Mr. Hayes' boys was traveling down the county road, and when about five miles below town, a large panther sprang out of a tree at him, or the horse he was riding. The horse reared, which probalby saved the boy. Jerry Collings, happening along at the time, fired twice at the panther with his pistol before it ran off. | Apr. 6, 1893 | Oregonian, Portland | Robyn Greenlund |
