Bandit's Auto Is Located By An Airplane.
Madras, Ore., Nov. 20-The Metolius State bank near here was
robbed of $2,000 yesterday afternoon by a holdup man who escaped in an
automobile with two accomplices. The sheriff, without a speedy means of
pursuing, saw Tex Rankin, an aviator, drop in at Madras for fuel and enlisted
his aid. The aviator took off in his place and from the air scoured the
countryside. He located the bandit car, he told the sheriff, stalled on a road a
few miles from here. A posse was out last night attempting to located the
robbers.
