Hi, my name is Shauna Williams and I am the host for the Oregon Trails which is part of the Genealogy Trails project. Our goal is to offer as much free information online as we can so that you can search for your ancestors.

Oregon was  added to the Genealogy Trails project in March 2006 and so we are working everyday to get as much information online as we can and we need your help. We are looking for county hosts so that counties, such as this one, can be the best they can be. If you think that may be something you are interested in please click here to read all about volunteering.

I am also looking for source information to put online for each county and would love to have your contributions. Please consider sharing what you have to help out others. Just email me through my name above and I will post it for you right away.

"Lake County was created from Jackson and Wasco Counties by the 1874 Legislature. It then included the present Klamath County and all of the present Lake County except Warner Valley. In 1882 Klamath was removed and in 1885 the Warner area from Grant County was added."   Oregon Blue Book
