1860 and 1870 Mortality Census for the State of Oregon
|
Just like the 1850 mortality census,
the 1860 covers people who have died during the year ending June 1st, 1860. I
have the counties included on each page. Please remember that spellings can
change, also I can make mistakes and so can the enumerator. I tried to check
family names with the 1860 census but on some people could just not find a
match. I tried my best but each enumerator a different handwriting style, I love some of
them and others I could do without!! |

The 1870 census also
covers the year ending June 1, 1870. In the 1870 census they ask if
parents are foreign born and leave out how long they have had
the disease or condition. The nice thing is that they include the
family number from the original census, this makes it easier to
check names when handwriting makes it difficult to make out. It also
will allow you to figure out what families experienced deaths in the
year. |
