POPULAR YOUNG MAN MARRIED
One of the prettiest weddings of the season was
sermonized at La Grande, Oregon on November 30th Thanksgiving Day,
when Miss Myrtle F. Long and Elbert W. Eastman were joined in
wedlock at 7:30 p.m., at the First Christian Church. Two hundred and
fifty people were present to witness the beautiful ceremony. The
decorations were evergreens and chrysanthemums. In the front was a
large arch of yellow chrysanthemums and Oregon grape.
Promptly at 7:30 Miss Sarah Smith, an accomplished
musician of La Grande, began Mendlesom's Wedding March. The bride
and groom were led to the alter by Vivian Penewell, a little two
year old flower girl. She carried a small basket of flowers and the
ring. At the alter the pretty little girl handed the groom the ring
who placed it on the bride's finger and ceremony was then performed
by Rev. H.L. Ford.
The bride was beautifully gowned in chiffon taffeta,
white satin slippers and a silk slippers and a silk bridal veil,
decorated with orange blossoms.
At 7:45 congratulations were in order and the 250
guests surged forward and wrung the hands of the bride and groom
wishing them happy and prosperous days. They departed on the 8:25
train for Soda Springs.
The happy young couple arrived in Soda Springs Friday
afternoon to spend a week with the ------ Mr. and Mrs. L.C. ------.
