Welcome to Wasco County Oregon

Hi, I'm Shauna Williams the host of Oregon trails which is a branch of the Genealogy Trails project. Our goal is to offer free information online to help you find your ancestors. Oregon is just starting out in this project so many of the counties, including Wasco, are up for adoption. Do you think you may enjoy being a host? Please click here to read about what that means.

I am also looking for any source data to post online, so if you would like to share what you have please email me through my name above.

Please keep checking back and exploring all the sites that Genealogy Trails has to offer. We are putting up new pages and information every day!

Good Luck in your search and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments or contributions.

When the Territorial Legislature created Wasco County in 1854 from parts of Clackamas, Lane, Linn and Marion counties, it embraced all of Oregon east of the Cascade Range, most of Idaho and parts of Montana and Wyoming. It was named for the Wasco (or Wascopam) Indian tribe.
