Hi, I'm Shauna Williams the host of the Oregon Trails site which is a branch of the Genealogy Trails project. Our goal is to offer free information online so that people can track their ancestors "wherever their trails led." I need your help in doing that, most of the counties are still available for adoption, this one too, please click here if you think you may be interested in hosting a county. Please don't hesitate to email me through the link above with any questions, comments or contributions. Even if a county is not adopted I would be more then happy to include your information online. Good luck in your search and please keep checking back on the main Oregon page, new stuff is added all the time.
We regret that we
are unable to perform personal research for folks. |

![]() Yamhill County was created in 1843 as one of Oregon’s original four districts. Its present boundaries were established in 1860. The county was named after the Yamhelas, members of the Kalapuya Indian family, who lived along the Yamhill River in the western Willamette Valley. Oregon Blue Book |
