Pittsburgh Female College - Eighth Street -
1877
Prominent
among the schools for girls was the Pittsburgh Female College,
incorporated in February, 1854. This was a sectarian institution under the
control of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and was prominent as a school
for about fifty
years.
