Baggageman Smiled; Won Society Bride  
Sewickley Girl Lost Heart to Handsome Railroader as His Train Sped by Her Summer Home

 

Special to the Inquirer.

PITTSBURG, Dec. 18.--Miss Margaret Shannon, a society girl of Sewickley, whose grandfather, Robert Shannan, was a pioneer of the Ohio Valley, and who is the daughter of Robert Robert Shannon, a Pittsburg business man, to-day announced to her friends that on December 10 she had been married to Harold E. Hannibal, at a little parsonage at Baden.

Hannibal is a baggagemaster on the Pittsburg, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railroad. Miss Shannon, who was a debutante this season, saw him daily as the train dashed past the Shannon summer home. She told her friends she admired the handome baggagemaster, became acquainted and fell in love with him.

Daughter Weds At Bedside Of Father.

Pittsburgh, Pa., April 26.--The marriage of Miss Grace McCune and John A. Caughey, of McKeesport, was solemnized this evening at 8 o'clock in the sick room of the bride's father, Dr. John N. McCune of McKeesport.

The wedding had been set for next Tuesday, but because of the critical illness of Dr. McCune, and at his request, the ceremony was performed this evening. Rev. J. C. Meloy, of West Newton, officiated. [Source: Philadelphia Inquirer, April 27, 1903- Transcribed by C. Anthony]

Honeymoon Follows Church Ceremony.

The marriage of Miss Ruth Agnes Toole, daughter of Mrs. Margaret M. Toole of Orchard Street to Norman William Smith, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Brownsville Road, took place Thursday.

 

The ceremony was held in St. Canice's Church. Rev. John C. Fallon read the service after which a wedding breakfast was held in Hotel Schenley. The bridal couple are now on an Eastern trip after which they will be at home at 1217 Brownsville Road.

 

For the ceremony the bride was attired in a gown of beige satin fashioned with train and brown velvet accessories. She carried a dresden bouquet of brown and tan.
