Pearce, Blanche Martyn Mrs. Blanche (Martyn) Pearce, 83, widow of James A. Pearce, died last night in her home at 225 Orange Street. She was a native of London, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Martyn, and lived in Reading 48 years. She was a member of the Church of God. Her husband died 53 years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Amy l., wife of Paul l. Weinhold, with whom she resided, and Louise A., wife of James J. Pfleger, Fleetwood R.D. #3a; four brothers and two sisters; Chester, Frederick, Edward, Oliver, ane Millie Martyn and Mae, wife of John Glennie, all of London, Canada; also nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one gret-great-grandchild. The Rev. David G. Cult will officiate at funeral services in the Cramp Funeral Home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be made in Laureldale Cemetery. Date not given Reading Eagle

Phillips, Dr. Charles S. Reading, Pa., April 28: Dr. Charles S. Phillips, well-known retired physician, died today from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy aged 72. He was a graduate of the Medico-Chi. Hospital, Philidelphia, and conducted a drug store at Shenandoah for many years.
