| Weber, Mrs. Dora | The funeral of Dora, widow of William Weber, took place from the residence of her son-in-law, Cyrus J. Butler, 823 Douglass, at 1:30 p. m. Services were conducted at St John's Lutheran chapel by Rev. Dr. J. J. Kuendig. The remains were attired in a black dress, covered with an eiderdown blanket, and reposed in a satin lined solid walnut casket, with heavy silver trimmings and plate bearing the inscription,- "Dora Weber, died December 23, '99, aged 79 years, 3 months and 17 days." The bearers were: John Dethoff, Wilson Althouse, William Stoner and Jacob Becker. A number of relatives and friends of deceased from out of town were in attendance, among which were: Mrs. Lizzie Schaeffer and son. of Frackville; Mr. and Mrs, Blausb, of Phila.; John Weber, son of deceased, from Chicago. | Wright, Joseph | One by One They Fade Away: We are pained to announce the death of Joseph Wright, a wall known and highly esteemed citizen of Maidencreek township, which occurred on Friday of last week, 21st February, in the 67th year of his age. We learn from the Times that Mr. Wright had been suffering for some years from pulmonary disease and cancer. He was one of the original members of the Berks County Agricultural and Horticultural Society, and took an active part in its management; was for several years a director of the Farmers' Bank of Reading, and held other important trusts. He was a steadfast Whig and Republican, and one of the oldest subscribers to the Berks and Schuylkill Journal, his name being registered on the books when the present senior editor entered the office as an apprentice over forty years ago.
