Located in Butler.

West Liberty was settled in 1829 and incorporated in 1903.

The population was 325 at the 2000 census.

The borough has a total area of 4.0 square miles, of which, 3.9 square miles of it is land and 0.04 square miles of it (1.01%) is water.
