Gettysburg Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania)
November 17 1909

On the evening of October 23, a beautiful and picturesque wedding took place at the home of Mrs. R. I. Mumma of Highspire, Pa., when Virginia Fiscel and Joesph Noel of New Oxford, Pa., were united in marriage.  Mr. and Mrs. Noel will make their home in New Oxford.  The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. John Fiscel of Gettysburg, and a niece of Drs. J. J. and Wm. R. Snyder of New Oxford.  The groom is an employee of the Livingston Shoe factory.

Dr. Charles H. Gordinier, head of the English department at the Cumberland Valley State Normal school and Miss Lottie Irene Stine, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Stine, of Elizabethville, were married at noon, Wednesday, July 20th.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. C. P. Wehr, of the Reformed Church, the bride's pastor.

Samuel T. Orris, Highspire and Estella May Sheaffer, of Middletown, were married by Rev. W. R. Glen, at the United Brethren Parsonage Saturday.

Sadie H. Bower, daughter of M. A. Bower, of Huntingdon township and Harry A. Helman of Hummelstown, were married at the Lutheran parsonage, in York Springs, on September 30th, by the Rev. Paul Gladfelter.

June 23, 1917

A pretty wedding occurred in the Methodist Episcopal church at Halifax, Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock when Miss Katheryn Pike, a daughter of W. L. Pike, became the bride of J. Dale Diehl, of York.  The ceremony was performed by the pastor, Rev. H. B. Slider, assisted by Rev. Ernest Pee, pastor of the Highspire Lutheran church. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Sara Pike, on Second street.  The newly married couple with reside in York, where Mr. Diehl is a supervisor of music in the York schools. Mr. Diehl is a graduate of college here where he has many friends.
