ASTON

My mother's maiden name was Aston. I am trying to find information on the founder of Aston Township in Delaware County, PA. Since I have learned that a generation later, another Aston ancestor was running a mill in Virginia and that he moved there "from Pennsylvania," I believe there is a possibility that some of my Aston ancestors may have been early residents of Aston Township. Any assistance or direction you can provide would be appreciated very much. Thanks
Dan

CLOUD, William

William CLOUD, of Calne, in Wiltshire, England was the founder of the Pennsylvania family. He was a member of the Friends'. On September 8 and 9, 1681, William Penn granted to William CLOUD five hundred acres of land laid out in Pennsylvania. This land was surveyed and laid out to the southward of Naemans creek. He does not appear to have lived on this land, his home being in Concord township, Chester county, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Chichester meeting. The minutes indicate attendance at two meetings in 1690. He died about 1702. (See the Philadelphia Wills page) He does not mention a wife, she having probably preceded him to the grave. Children: William, Jeremiah, Joseph, John, Robert and Susannah .
Is anyone else researching this family?

CLYMER, Robert

Robert CLYMER, CLIMER, CLAYMORE, KLIMER was an adult in the Germantown section of Philadelphia in 1765. He was left some property in the will of Christopher Witt, of Germantown. A Robert Clymer left a will, proven 1817, in Philadelphia leaving all to his daughter, Barbara. He names his sons in the will, but they do not inherit. I am trying to prove that this is one and the same man. Does anyone have any information to share?

DAVIS

I am a descendant of Joseph Davis, who married Hannah Cloud. I believe I am further decended through a son, Joseph Davis Jr. All appear on a 1780 Tax Roll for Birmingham Twp. Delaware co. Pa. Also appearing on this roll is a Thomas Davis, Inmate, who I believe to be a son of Joseph Davis Jr.

I am sure this is the same Thomas Davis appearing on the 1810 Fed. Census for East Fallowfield Twp. Chester Co. Fed. Census; 1820 East Fallowfield , Samuel Davis and Walter Davis Fed. Census; for Fed. Census 1840 ( East Falowfield ), whom I have credible evidence that Walter Davis is my Ancestor. Any assistance in this matter would be very much appreciated.

RHEINTHALER

RINEDOLLAR, REINTHALER, RHEINTHALER, RINEDOLLER, and RHINEDOLLAR or similar spellings. My earliest ancestor, JOH GEORG RHEINTHALER came to the United States in the mid-1700s. He was married to ANNA MARGARETHA GOTTSCHAL in Simmozheim, Germany on Apr 14, 1744. His second wife was SOPHIA TIMBLE who had been married to a GEORGE TIMBLE. They may have settled in Radnor Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania since a GEORG RIDDOLLER was taxed on property from 1756-1768, The 50 acre farm belonged to a WILLIAM TAYLOR, JR whose wife was a RINEDOLLAR.
JOH GEORG AND ANNA's children were GEORG HEINRICH (HENRY), ANNA MARGARETHA (RHEINTHALER) BLACK, BARBARA (RHEINTHALER) LAURI, GEORGE JACOB, MATTHAIS JACOB, MARGARET, AND ANNA.. JOH GEORG and family were living in Frederick County, MD at the time of the 1790 U.S. Census.
Does anyone have any information on this family, the GOTTSCHALLs or TAYLORs?

RINEDOLLER

RINEDOLLAR, REINTHALER, RHEINTHALER, RINEDOLLER, and RHINEDOLLAR or similar spellings. CHARLES WESLEY and his brother GEORGE RINEDOLLER were both killed in an explosion in Philadelphia in 1905. CHARLES was born on Feb 6, 1860. Their parents were DURBIN and ANNE MARIE THORNLEY. ANNA was born in England. She was the second wife of DURBIN. HANNAH M. LOTTER was his first wife. The other children were WILLIAM THORNLEY born Jan 5, 1858 and JANE SLOANE born in 1851. I would like to know more about this family and the THORNLEYS and LOTTERS. This is the first family who spelled their name RINEDOLLER instead of RINEDOLLAR. His descendants do not know the reason and maybe someone can help. Also, I am trying to find out more about the explosion that killed the two brothers. I only know the year of 1905. Is there a THORNLEY or LOTTER descendant who could shed more light on this family? A DURBIN RINEDOLLER was in an orphanage in Philadelpha.
