GLADYS FORBES ANNOUNCES PLANS
Miss Gladys Forbes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford V. Forbes of 837 E. 22nds st., made known her completed plans for her marriage to Clarence Walter Bemis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid Bemis, Wattsburg, Pa., at a personal shower given in her honor by Miss JEAN KERR and Miss Charlotte Traphagen in the latter's home, 2819 Reed st., on Tuesday evening. The ceremony read by Rev. Homer B. Davis in the Wayne Street Methodist Church, 23rd and Wayne sts., on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 8 p. m. Miss Forbes has asked Mrs. Donald Mc Garvey, sister of the groom as her matron of honor, while Miss JEAN KERR and Miss Charlotte Traphagen will be bridesmaids. Luara Jean Brindle will act as flower girl and her brother, Donald Brindle, will be ring bearer.
Mr. Bemis has asked his brother, Carl Bemis, to attend as best man. Ushers be Stanley Blystone and John flair Fileger, cousins of the bride, and Charles Bannister and Donald McGarvey. Clifford Forbes will give his daughter in marriage.

MISS FORBES WED. AUG. 23 WAYNE STREET METHODIST CHURCH was the scene of the marriage at 8 p. m. Saturday evening, of Miss Gladys Forbes and Clarence Bemis. The Rev. Homer B. Davis read the service before a setting of palms and ferns. Mrs. Paul Davis, organist, presented traditional music while Miss Gertrude Kohler, soloist, sang "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly." The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Forbes, 837 E. 22nd st., and Mr. Bemis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Bemis, R. D. 3, Wattsburg, Pa. The bride was attended by Mrs. Donald Mc Garvey, sister of the bridegroom, as maid of honor; Miss JEAN KERR, and Charlotte Traphagen, bridesmaids; and Laura Jean Brindle, her cousin as flower girl. Best man was Carl Bemis, brother of the bridegroom and ushers were Stanley Blystone, John Filegar, Charles Bannister and Donald Mc Gravey. Donald Brindle, cousin of the bride, was ring bear. For her marriage the brides wore a gown of metallic brocade on marquisette, a finger tip length veil, and carried a shower bouquet of gladioli and chrysanthemums. Her attendants were gown of net over Windsor satin with puffed sleeves and full skirts. Mrs. Mc Garvey was in yellow, Miss KERR in peach, Miss Traphagen in aqua, and Laura Jean Brindle in pink. They wore flowers in their hair, and carried bouquets of gladioli and delphinium. The bride's mother wore a wine colored dress with white accessories. Both wore corsages of gladioli. Reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. The home was decorated with fall flowers, and a three tiered cake with miniature bride and bridegroom centered the brides table. Gloria Nocer and Lois Filegar served at the reception. The couple left on a week's honeymoon trip through Michigan and after sept. 1 will be at home t 837 E. 22nd st. JEAN L. FULLER BECOMES BRIDE
AT a candlelight tea held at Heath's Chateau Thursday, Mrs. L.W. Fuller, 1219 E. 30th st. honored her daughter, Jean Louise, on her 21st birthday, and announced her marriage to Charles Joseph Bender, 1218 E. 30th st., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bender.
The service was preformed by the Rev. J. Manley Spencer at Westfield, N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Mc Cormack were the only attendants.
Miss Helen Whitby and Miss Gretchen Gray presided at the tea table which was beautifully decorated in pink and white with a centerpiece of summer flowers. The news was revealed by small notes. "Chuck and Jean, April 25, 1941" tucked into pink rosebuds which served as decoration for individual tea cakes.
The bride is employed at Trask Prescott and Richardson Co. and the groom is employed at Griswold Manufacturing Co. The young couple expect to soon be established in their
own home.

Leahy officiated at the service before an altar decorated with white tapers and the couple was attended by Sergt. And Mrs. Carl L. Nelson of Clearfield. The bride was attired in a sea foam blue two piece dress and white accessories wearing a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Nelson wore an aqua silk dress with white accessories and a corsage of deep pink roses. Bridal dinner was served after the ceremony at Holmes Hotel and the newlyweds spent their honeymoon in New Orleans, La. They are living at 804 S. Katie Ave., Hattiesburg, Miss. The former Miss Smith was graduated from Academy High School and attended Erie Commercial College. She was employed in the purchasing department of the Hammermill Paper Co. Sergt. Bosner attended Cathedral Preparatory School and before entering the service was employed by the Erie Forge and Steel Co. He is attached to the 806th tank destroyer battalion.

Friday, March 19, in the First Methodist Church of Warren Pa., Pfc . Eckert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Eckert, 591 North st., Meadville Pa., and he is now stationed at Ft. George G. Meade , Maryland.
The service was read by the Rev. Wayne Furman, pastor of the church, and the bride wore a street length dress of melon pink and navy blue with matching accessories and her
corsage was of talisman roses and baby orchids.
The couple will make their home at 591 North st. Meadville Pa. The bride who was graduated from Sharpsville High School, is now employed at Talon, Inc. The ridegroom, who was graduated from Meadville High school, attended Allegheny College. Before entering the army he was employed at Talon Inc.

LUTHERN MEMORIAL CHURCH was the scene Saturday at 12o' clock noon of the wedding of Miss Jeanne Evelyn Bloss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Bloss, 2812 Green Garden Blvd., and Charles Eighmy, son of Mrs. J. F. Schneider, 110 W. 5th St., Rev. E. Maclay Gearhart officiated at the ceremony in a setting of white gladioluses.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white chiffon gown with lace insertations fashioned with a square neckline accented with runching, puffed sleeves and a bouffant skirt. Her fingertip veil depending from a tiara of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and orchids.
Miss La Verne Angoletti attended the bride as maid of honor, in a blue chiffon frock made similarly to that of the bride. Her shoulder length veil depended from a tiara of blue flowers and she carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Miss Marilyn Treado, bridesmaid was attired in a pink dress and veil made like that of the maid of honor and carried a bouquet of blue carnations. LeRoy Brown was best man for Mr. Eighmy and Archie Atkins and Harry Eighmy, brother of the groom, were ushers. The bride's mother attended the ceremony in a black and gold chiffon dress with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses, while Mrs. Eighmy appeared in a black and white redingote with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias.
The wedding breakfast was served at 1:30 o'clock in the Hildegarde Tea Room. A reception was given in the afternoon from 3 to 6 o'clock in the Bloss residence. After the reception the couple left on a western trip, for which the bride chose a striped summer suit, with white accessories, and a corsage of orchids.
Both the bride and groom were graduated from Academy High School, and Mr. Eighmy is employed at the Keystone Electric Company.

MISS GLENN JOHNSON, 732 E. 31st st., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olin Johnson, and Elmer G. Hartleb, 1243 E. 22nd st., Mr. and Mrs. George Hartleb, were married at 7 p. m., Friday, Nov. 28th, in the parsonage of the Wayne Street Methodist Church. The Rev. Chester Mc Caskey officiated at the candlelight service.
The brides gown of brown and beige in street length and wore a corsage of sunkist roses. Miss Lucille Johnson, a sister of the bride, bridesmaid, wore a dress of brown and gold in street length and also wore a corsage of sunkist roses. Anthony Hartleb, brother of the bride groom, was the best man.
A reception followed in the residence of the bride, 732 E. 31st st., from 7:30 to 9:30 p. m. Following a short eastern trip, the couple will return to take up residence at 502 Parade st. Out of town guest at the wedding was Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford of Indianapolis, Indiana, grandmother of the bride. Those have entertained for the couple include the sisters of the bride, Lucile, Mary and Violet Johnson, Mrs. Elmer Root, Mrs. Henry Root, Miss Elma Kent, Mrs. Raymond Lee, Miss Matilda Yosten.
The bride is a graduate of Academy High School and employed by the Boston Store. The bridegroom a graduate of Academy High School is employed by the Pennsylvania Boiler Works.

THE summer home of Rev. Wayne Furman at Chautauqua Lake was the scene of the wedding at 2 p. m. today, June 28th of Miss Barbara Beasley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Beasley, 2422 German st., and Guy W. Harvey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel H. Kuhn, 1304 Boston st.
The bride was wearing a street length white silk jersey with poke bonnet and white accessories and a corsage of red and white roses. Miss Elsie Cook, her only attendant, was wearing a pink crepe dress with white accessories and corsage of pink roses and blue forget-me-nots.
The reception was held after the ceremony from 7 to 9:30 p. m., at the home of the bride's parents, for friends and relatives. Decorations were garden flowers, candles and the bridal cake. The wedding was private, with only parents of the bride and bridegroom, and attendants present.
After July 1st the couple will be at home at the Studio Apartment, 1304 Boston st. where Mr. Harvey is the director of Guy Harvey Music Studio. He was graduated from String
Vincent High School. The bride a graduate of Academy High School was employed at Hamot Hospital. Those who have entertained for the couple are Elsie Cook, Connie Renna and Connie Raymond.

AT 7:30 p. m. yesterday, Wednesday, Oct. 14, Miss Phyllis Jean Kimmy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee H. Kimmy, 1206 W. 28th st., and P.F.C. Lowell J. Hinkson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hinkson, Union City, Pa. were united in marriage by the Rev. George F. Kerchner, Jr. in the Sarah Hearn Memorial Church.
Ferns, palms, and candelabra decorated the church and Mrs. Fred Jameson presented a recital of organ music. Mrs. Fredrick Schimmel, sister of the bride, attended as matron of honor and Miss Jane Foster as the bride's maid. Gerald Hinkson, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Merlin Demington and Fredrick Schimmel acted as ushers. A reception was held from 8 to 10 p. m. in the home of the parents of the bride after which the couple left for a short honeymoon.
The former Miss. Kimmy was a graduate of Academy High school and is employed by the Pennsylvania Telephone Corporation. Mr. Hinkson, a graduate of union City High school was employed at Erie Malleable Iron Company, before entering the United States Army.

The ceremony took place at Deland, Fla., on Thursday, Sept. 13, with the Rev. J. W. McKnight of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Mrs. Hitchen, formerly of Harborcreek, was until her marriage, assistant to Leonard H. Jacobson, M.D., Miami Beach, Fla. She was a graduate of Haborcreek High School and attended Sinai School of Nursing at Baltimore, Md. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hitchen of Philadelphia. There he was graduated from the North East High School. He attended school at Philadelphia Navy Yard prior to his enlistment in the navy. Francis Hawley and Shirley Spring ushered. Mrs. Volk, mother of the bride, was attired in a powder blue dress with black accessories and a pink rosebud corsage while Mrs. Jackson, mother of the groom, worew a dark purple dress, black accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The wedding dinner was held in The Barn, table decorations carried out with white mums. The reception for the couple was held in the home of the bride's parents from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. |

The bride wore a gown of ivory satin with lace bodice. Her tulle veil was fastened with a wreath of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and stephanotis. A quite double ring ceremony taking place on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 12:30 p. m. in the rectory of St. Ann's Church united Miss Charlotte Traphagen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Traphagen 645 E. 19th st., and Corp. Edward L. Kolesar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephan Kolesar, 636 E. 7th st.
The Rev. Msgr. L. A. Mc Bride read the nuptials, and the couple pledged their vows in the presence of the immediate families.
The bride was attractively attired in a powder blue wool dress with navy accessories and a corsage of white orchids.
The bride's mother attended the wedding in a flowered jersey ensemble and a corsage of red roses, while the groom's mother chose a black dress with matching accessories and a
similar corsage.
A small family dinner was served in the Stratford Restaurant after which the couple left on a eastern honeymoon.
The former Miss Traphagen was a graduate of Academy High School, and is employed by the state highway department. The groom is a graduate of Technical High School, and
was employed by the General Electric Co., before entering the army air forces. He is now home on a 30-day furlough.

LOCAL INTEREST IN THE McINTOSH WEDDING HELD SATURDAY AT ENGLEWOOD
THE Rev. Donald T. McIntosh, pastor of Mennonite Brothers in Christ Church of Englewood, O. formerly of Wesleyville, Pa., and son of the late Rev. and Mrs. James F. McIntosh, and Miss Evelyn Neuenschwander, daughter of Rev and Mrs. E. J. Neuenschwander of McPherson Kansas, were married in Rev. McIntosh's church in Englewood at 7 p. m. Saturday, August 16th.
The Rev. McIntosh is a graduate of Wesleyville High school and Fort Wayne Bible Institute. His wife is a graduate Central Academy and Fort Wayne Bible Institute.
Prof. Weaver of the Fort Wayne Bible Institute was pianist, Mr. Richard Holzworth of Fort Wayne, soloist. There was a quartet from the school of which the bride was a member, which also sang, and they included Miss Sadie Habeggar, Berne Ind., Miss Elsie Uberschar, Cleveland, O., Miss Irme Judd, Stratton Neb., and Dorothy Slabaugh, Etna Green, Ind.
Charles McIntosh, of Wesleyville, brother of the bridegroom, was best man; and usher were Donald Miller of Erie, Alfred Shaduck, and Charles Glenn of Wesleyville, and Donald Russet of Berne ,Ind.
The bride wore white satin made with long sleeves pointed at the wrists, a high neckline, and full train. Her veil depended from orange blossoms and she carried an arm bouquet
of white roses.
The attendant's dresses were alike, made with square necklines and short puffed sleeves. They wore shoulder veils which depended from flower tiaras. Miss Anna Neuenschwander, sister of the bride, who was maid of honor, wore blue crepe and carries yellow gladioli and blue delphinium. The bridesmaid, Miss Ruth McIntosh of
Wesleyville, sister of the bridegroom, wore pink crepe and shoulder veil and carried pink gladioli and blue delphinium. The flower girl. Miss Judy Fuller of Wesleyville, niece of the bridegroom, wore yellow and scattered rose petals before the bride.
