Thomas M'Kibben
Republican Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania) October 12, 1825
Thomas M'Kibben, Esq., Prothonotary of Fayette county, died at Uniontown, on the 24th ultimo; and the "Genius of Liberty" gives the names of the following persons as applicants for the office, viz: John A. Sangston, Daniel P. Lynch, Joseph B. M'Dermott, Richard Patton, James Piper, Valentine Geisey, Andrew Bryson, Andrew Dempsey.

David Newmyer
The Courier (Connellsville, Pennsylvania) April 13, 1905
Died near Toulon, Illinois on April the Second
David Newmyer, son of Jacob and Anna Newmyer, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Callison, near Toulon, Ill., April 2. He was born in Lower Tyrone township, September 20, 1811, and was the eldest of a family of nine children. One sister, Mrs. Clarissa McCormick, of Connellsville, now 78 years old is the only remaining one of that family, of which she was the youngest. In October 1843, David Newmyer married Miss Rachael Hubbs, who died January 13, 1856. Five children, Sue H., Anna, William C., Samuel B. and Sarah Virginia, were born to them of these Miss Sue Newmyer, Mrs. Anna Callison and Samuel Newmyer of Guide Book, Neb., survive.
After the death of his wife he made numerous trips West and finally settled in Toulon, his family joining him in 1867. He was a member of the Christian Church, having joined it when about 20 years of age. The services were then held in the old Shallenberger house on the South Side which was torn down about a year ago.
Mr. Piersall

Union, Pa., June 7
Was drowned in the Youghiogany at Connellsville, in this county, on Wednesday the 1st inst., a Mr. Piersall, of Lancaster county, Pa. Mr. Piersall was swimming a drove of sheep across the river immediately above the bridge and while he was endeavoring to keep the sheep as near the fording as possible, the current took his horse into deep water under the bridge. The horse with his rider swam nearly to shore, when coming to a ledge of rocks a little under water, the horse made a sudden plunge to get on them, when Mr. Piersall fell backwards from his horse, and notwithstanding there were a number on the bank of the river, he sunk to rise no more. A few hours afterwards his body was found and the next day decently interred.
