Our entertaining friend, John H. Cunningham of West Indiana, is erecting another new house nearly opposite the store room of Cunningham Bros.
The excavation for the foundation of the public school house in West Indiana is nearly completed, and the masons expect to finish up the foundation in the course of the next month. The School Directors have assessed a building tax of 10 mills, and also a school tax of 10 mills making the entire ratio 2 per cent. We applaud the wisdom of this course, as will enable them not only to keep their schools open the usual time but will allow them to proceed with their building without embarrassment.

Our friend J. A. McAnulty of West Indiana, has invented and had patented a Hay Elevator and Carrier, that is said to be a practical and admirable machine for the purpose. We hope he will be successful in introducing his invention to the public.
