HARRY G. CORRELL, member of the board of education, is the son of Henry and Anna (Bittner) Correll, and was born in Allentown, March 9, 1878. After being educated in the public schools, he became connected with several of the leading jewelry and optical establishments in Philadelphia. In 1888, in partnership with Frank Hartman, he organized the jewelry and optical firm of Hartman & Correll. Five years later, upon the reitrement of Mr. Hartman, Mr. Correll became the sole proprietor, and since 1907 is located at 415 North Seventh Street. He is a Democrat in politics, and in 1909 was elected to the Fifth Ward sectional school board. Under the new school code, in 1913 he was re-elected to a six-year term on the board of education. Mr. Correll's career as a school director has been one of progressiveness and marked success. In 1904 he married Mae, a daughter of E. M. Loux, of Allentown. |
