CHARLES P. DIEFENDERFER, realty operator, was born in the East Texas, Lehigh County, Pa., March 31, 1878, a son of Charles and Sarah (Gift) Diefenderfer. He received only a meager education in the township schools and at an early age was employed in the ore mines and quarries in the vicinity of his home. In 1895 he came to Allentown and after learning the painting and paper-hanging trade throughly, became a contractor in that line of business. Aside from his contracting business, he was one of the organizers and is secretary and treasurer of the Allentown Land Company, developers of one of the city's newer residential sections. This company was organized in 1910 and has enjoyed unusual prosperity. He is a member of Jordan Lodge of Masons, Elks, Eagles, Franklin Fire Company and other social and fraternal organizations. In 1901 he married Ida Frederick, of Allentown.
