DAVID H. JACKS, printer and man of affairs, is a native of Hummelstown, Pa., having been born there, august 25, 1874. He is the son of Thomas and Annie Jacks. Early in youth , following a brief education in the public schools, Mr. Jacks learned the printer's trade, serving his apprenticship in the office of the Hummelstown Sun. Later he spent six years in thelarger cities of the EAst, in widening his experience as a printer. Upon his return to this section he was foreman of the palnt of the South Bethlehem Globe, and on May 1, 1900, embarked in the job printing business in Allentown. He has been a marked success in tis line, and his establishment is one of theleading printeries in teh city of Allentown. For a period of five years Mr. Jacks was manager of Dorney Park, and for the last eight years has conducted the bahting beach at that pleasure resort. He is a member of the board of governors of the Chamber of Commerce and is extremely active in P. O. S. of A. circles, aside from being a member of the following organizations: Barger Lodge of Masons; Allen Chapter, R. A. M.; I. O. R. M.; Knights of Pythias; Modern Woodmen of America; Eagles, Owls and others. Mr. Jacks was married twice. His first wife was Minnie V. Seip, of Allentown. She died, and on March 1, 1903, he married Mary S. Rex., of Allentown. |
