DR. R. B. KLOTZ, extensive developer of real estate and suburban residential districts, was born in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, Pa., October 25, 1872. He was a son of Jeremiah and Carolina (Seip) Klotz. He was educated in the public schools and Muhlenberg College. In 1893 he was graduated from the Jefferson College, Philadelphia. For one year he practiced his profession in Marysville, Ohio, afater which he located in Rittersville, Pa., being the first physician in that locality. For eight years he was the physician for the Lehigh County almshouse. He is a member of the firm of Klotz & Bregenzer, silk ribbon manufactureres. He has purcahsed many farms in and adjacent to Allentown and Rittersville, which he has cut up into building lots and converted into residential sections. Because of his vast real estate transactions and failing health, he disposed of his medical practice to Dr. V. J. Gangewere in August, 1907. At the present time he is active in the development of Rosemont, an exclusive Allentown and Bethlehem residential section. It was largely through his progressiveness and indomitable force of character that the territory lying immediately east of the city has been developed to so great an extent. Doctor Klotz was one of the chief projectors in the building of the Allentown Boulevard. Politically he is a Democrat and served as school director and supervisor of Hanover Township. He is a director of the Citizens Deposit and Trust company, and a former president of the Lehigh Valley Motor Club. He is also a charter member of the Rittersville Fire Company, and active in the work of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Rittersville. In 1895 he married Elizabeth C. Rauch, of Marysville, Ohio.
