ARTHUR J. D. KOENIG, clerk of orphans' court of Lehigh County, is a son of Francis and Emma (Billheimer) Koenig, and was born in Allentwon, March 2, 1885. He was educated in the public schools and the Allentown Business College. His first employment was with the Heilman Boiler Works, Allentown, in the capacity of draftsman, and in 1910 was appointed deputy clerk of orphans' court of Lehigh County. He was the youngest public officeholder in the county at that time. In 1913 he was elected on the Democratic ticket to the office of clerk of orphans' court, polling the largest majority ever received by a candidate for office in Lehigh County. He has proven himself a most obliging and faithful public servant, and as a result won many fast friends in the locality which he serves. He is a loyal supporter of eh Democratic party and for many years has been treasurer of the Democratic standing committee in Lehigh County. Mr. Koenig is also actively interested in real estate and various business pursuits. He is a member of Barger Lodge of Masons; I. O. O. F.; K. G. E.; K. of M. C.; Buffaloes; Owls; Moose; Foresters of America; Clover Club; Good Will Fire Company and others. He married LIllie M., daughter of George and Alice Henninger, of Seidersville.
