Mary McNulty
Woman Found Dead In Home
Police Ascribe Passing of Mary McNulty, 45, to Natural Causes
Mary McNulty, 45, who was found dead on kitchen floor of her home, 28 North Welles street, died of natural causes. The woman had not been seen since Monday [December 28, 1931] and she is believed to have been dead several days before her body was discovered yesterday afternoon [January 1, 1932] at 2:30.

Mr. and Mrs. James Kehoe of 2 Newport street, Ashley, brother-in-law and sister of the woman, made the discovery. They told police they had attempted to communicate with the woman on the telephone since Monday but did not receive an answer. Peering through a rear window yesterday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Kehoe saw the woman lying on the floor and when they received no answer to their calls forced the door to find the woman dead.

Patrolmen Schwab and Poepperling answered the first call and later Detectives Olds and Kolis investigated. The detectives reported that the woman had evidently been ill and when she died she fell from a day bed to the kitchen floor. They said odor of gas could be detected but that no great amount of gas could have escaped since an explosion would have occurred as a kitchen gas jet was burning. Luther M. Kniffen, county corner, took charge of the body.
