GRANDPARENTS
JOHN GESSLEY - Emigrated from Schlierbach, Kingdom of Wurtemburg, in Europe, to North America in 1817. In 1819 John Gessley settled in Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, Pa., as a wagonmaker. He married Elizabeth Rheinheimer, April 29, 1819. Rev. Mennig officiating. Through this marriage 11 children, 7 boys and 4 girls were born.
PETER YAEGER - Born in Douglas, Montgomery county, February 14, 1781. Married Elizabeth Gilbert March 3, 1805. Twelve children, 8 sons and 4 daughters were born to them.
PARENTS
DANIEL GESSLEY - The third son of John Gessley and his wife, Elizabeth, was born August 27, 1823 in Orwigsburg, Pa. Baptized September 24, 1823 by Rev. Bellharz. Witnesses to baptism, Daniel Foch and Catherine Rheinheimer. He became a wagonmaker in that town. He was married March 15, 1845, to Maria Yaeger, Rev. Reibelt officiating. Eight children, four boys and four girls were born to them.
MARIA YAEGER - The fourth daughter and youngest child of Peter Yaeger and his wife, Elizabeth Gilbert, was born February 19, 1822, at Braunschweig, Schuylkill county, Pa. Baptized by Rev. Mennig. Witnesses to baptism, Richard Rickert and his wife, Christina. Married to Daniel Gessley March 15, 1845.

SARAH LOUISE GESSLEY - Born on January 12, 1846, at West Braunschweig, Schuylkill Co., Pa. Baptized January 25, 1846 at Orwigsburg by Rev. Yaeger, Witnesses to baptism, J. Yaeger and Sarah Edelmann.
CATHERINE ELIZABETH GESSLEY - Born December 14, 1846 at West Braunschweig, Schuylkill County, Pa. Baptized February 16, 1847 by Rev. Yaeger in Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, Pa. Witnesses to the baptism, J. Gessley and wife, Elizabeth. Married to William Freed in August,1866 by John F. Wicklein of Orwigsburg, Pa.
JOHN PETER GESSLEY - Born April 28, 1849 in West Braunschweig, Schuylkill Co., Pa. Baptized 1849 by Rev. Yaeger in Orwigsburg, Pa. Witnesses to the baptism, Peter Yaeger and his wife, Elizabeth.
MARY MARGARET GESSLEY - Born June 8, 1851, in West Braunschweig Co., Pa. Baptized by Rev.Yaeger. Witnesses to the baptism, the parents. Married June 30, 1867 by Rev. John F. Wicklein of Orwigsburg, Schuylkill, Schuylkill Co., Pa., to Jacob M. Meyer.
EMMA WILLERIA GESSLEY - Born April 28, 1853 in West Braunschweig, Schuylkill Co., Pa. Baptized by Rev. William D. Good. Witnesses to the baptism, John and Sarah Yaeger, formerly Edelmann.

SARAH LOUISE GESSLEY - Died July 20, 1866, at the age of 20 years, 4 months and 8 days. The Rev. Jacob Klein officiated at the burial.
