Lott Corson

Republican Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania) October 13 1824

Some day last week, as Mr. Lott Corson was descending a well in a bucket, in Derrstown, the rope broke when he was about six feet from the top, and he was precipitated to the bottom with such violence, as to survive the fall but a few hours. - Ib.

Robert S. Maxwell

Republican Compiler (Gettysburg, Pennsylvania)
February 12 1823 Page 3

Died at New Berlin, Pa. On Monday the 27th ultimo, Mr. Robert S. Maxwell, son of the late William Maxwell, Esquire, deceased of this borough. A few months since, this interesting youth left this Borough, and entered upon the study of the law, under the direction of his Uncle, John Lashells, Esquire. In his studies he progressed with a rapidity and correctness, at once indicative that the native strength of his mind, and his early habits of application, were such as to induce the expectation, that, in due course of time, he would have been eminently qualified for the profession he had chosen. By his premature death the anxious solicitude and fondest hopes of a widowed mother, and the anticipated pleasure of a numerous circle of relatives, have been dispelled.
