The Burlingame homestead is located in the Town of Coventry, Rhode Island, Just south of the Scituate Town line, and near the Village of Hope. The old house is still standing, hut is not occupied and Is out of repair. The family live in a newer house adjoining it. Eight* generations of Burlingames have lived there: Balingstone Burlingame, the first settler, Stephen, Ebenezer**, Benjamin, Henry, Andrew, Charles, and the present occupant Lloyd H. Burlingame with his wife and two daughters. The family bible is dated 1832 and is inscribed "Henry Burlingame's Property, Coventry, K. I. Dec. 20,1842".

The family graveyard is but a short distance from the house, and between the house and Colvlntown Road, in Coventry.

2. Ruth Burlingame, wife of Stephen Burlingarae, died Oct. 2, 1815, in the 75th year of her age. (Ruth King, born 9 Sept. 1741, daughter of Ebonezer and Deliverance (Ralph) King (Ebenezer, Clement).
