Ala. Was born on January 10, 1843 at Edgefield in
the county of Edgefield District in the state of South
Carolina; first entered the service as private on Sept
1861 at Demopolis, Ala. in the Company A
43rd Ala. Infantry and continued until after the Battle
of Chickamauga I was transferred to Ed Baxter’s
Tennessee Battery – Was with it at Missionary Ridge
still close of war – was never
paroled. |
