The humble petition of Abraham Black showeth that (illegible, but possibly Thomas) Hance Black, late of said district, dec'd, (illegible) and possessed of a tract of land, situated in said district on Reedy Fork, waters of Reedy River, adjoining lands of James Linderman, Abraham Cox, William Cox, dec'd, John Johnson and others, and containing two hundred and seventy - six acres more or less. (Illegible) petition prays that said land may be sold or divided for partition amongst the heirs of said deceased.
The following is a (illegible) list of the heirs of said deceased.

Know all men by these presents that I, David S. Harris of the county and state aforesaid for diverse good causes and considerations on hereunto moving have made ordained and appointed and by these presents do make ordain and appoint James Lenderman of Greenville District South Carolina my true and lawful attorney for me hired in my name for my own purpose and benefit to receive and receipt for my wife Detitia J. Harris formerly Detitia J. Dyer distributive share of her mothers Polly Dyers estate now in the hands of the Clerk of the Probate Court of Greenville District South Carolina or in the hands of any other person whatsoever (continues...) August 22, 1859 signed D. S. Harris and Detitia Harris.

To all to whom these presents shall come we formerly Rebeca Dyer now Rebeca Brasher and Cita Dyer of the County of Fayette and state of Alabama send greeting whereas Hance Black late of the County of Greenville and state of South Carolina died intestate by means whereof and by the virtue of the laws of the said State of South Carolina in such case made and provided for the distribution of the estate of intestates I am become legally entitled to a distributive share of my said grandfathers real and personal property. Now know ye that we the said formerly Rebeca Dyer now Rebeca Brasher and Cita Dyer having and reposing grate (sic) confidence in Hance B. Dyer of the county of Coweta and state of Georgia have made constituted and appointed and by these presents do make constitute and appoint the said Hance B. Dyer my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name to sue for ask and demand (illegible) and receive of and from Abraham Black and John Black Administrators of the estate of the said Hance Black deceased all my distributive share (continues...) the (illegible) day of July A. D. 1859 signed Rebeca Brasher (her mark) and Cita Dyer (her mark)

(Note: Hance Bailus Dyer was the son of Thomas and Mary Black Dyer and the brother of Rebeca Brasher and Cita Dyer.The probate was filed in 1850.)

I James Cox in right of my wife Diannah Cox formerly Dianah Black and Hanna Black do hereby with appreciation to the court of ordinary for division (illegible) of the real estate of Jacob Black, late of said district deceased who died intestate said real estate consists of one tract of two hundred acres more less bounded by Thomas Long William J (illegible but may be Dacus) and others - part of a tract originally granted to Jacob Pyle - one other tract of one hundred acres of land on waters of the South Fork of Saluda River in said district more less - near Col. (illegible but may be Hodges), in the mountains supposed granted to John Yandles.

Your application would also state the following as a true account of the legal heirs and representations of said deceased written this date

1. James Cox and wife Dianah
2. Hance Black
3. Jeremiah Hide and Sarah his wife
4. The heirs at law of Eliz. Hide, dec'd, viz Jacob Hide, Jeremiah Hide, Charles Hide, Reubin Hide, Parker Bottoms and wife Polly, Anthony Fowler and Sarah his wife, Thomas Sanford and Elizabeth his wife and Thomas Weaver and his wife Nancy all in this district and Pickens.
5. George Owens and wife Nancy Haywood, N. C.
6. Jacob Black West Tennessee Carroll Cty.
7. Wm. Askew and wife Polly same place (illegible)
8. James Kelly and Susannah his wife Elbert, Geo.

No more known at this time.
