Annie Mae Altman
LADSON - Annie Mae Altman, 100,
died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Altman was born on March 30,
1908 in Varnville. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Annie
Fennell. She was a homemaker and a member of Ladson Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Altman; her sons,
Benjamin Franklin Altman, William J. Altman; a daughter, Elizabeth
Altman Sharp; a sister, Idell Walker Smith; and a brother, Dee
Edward.
Surviving are: One daughter, Mary
E. Altman Driggers and husband, David, of Ladson; three sons, Frank
C. Altman of Ladson, John E. Altman and wife, Linda, of Charlotte
Hall, Md.; James C. Altman; 17 grandchildren; 31 great
grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren.
The family offers a very special
and sincere thanks to Winyah Community Hospice Care for taking care
of Mrs. Altman for the past year. Funeral services will be held 10
am. Thursday, Aug. 7 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel in Summerville
with burial in the Johnson-St. Paul's Cemetery in Hampton. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made to Winyah Community Hospice, 4055
Faber Place Road, North Charleston, SC 29405. Parks Funeral Home of
Summerville is in charge of the arrangements. Peeples-Rhoden Funeral

McAlhaney
VARNVILLE - Mrs. May Warren
McAlhaney, 71, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Saturday,
August 2, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. McAlhaney was born July 23,
1937 in Colusa, California and was a daughter of the late Willis
Lavern Warren and Ruth Margurite McMillian Warren. She retired from
Hampton County Department of Social Services, where she worked for
28 years. Mrs. McAlhaney was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church
and a member of the Bosom Buddies.
Surviving are: her husband of 51
years, Jack W. McAlhaney; children, Jack W. “Jay” McAlhaney, Jr.,
Scott McAlhaney and Joy McAlhaney, all of Varnville; grandchildren,
Hannah McAlhaney, Warren McAlhaney, Trey McAlhaney, Courtney Bishop,
Chelsea Bishop, Sunny McAlhaney, Henry McAlhaney, Haley McAlhaney,
Daniel Bilton and Jacob Bilton; and great grandchildren, Joselain
Anthon and Jaiyden Bilton.
Graveside funeral services were
held 10 o'clock Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Smith Cemetery, Grays
Highway, Varnville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:
Hampton County Relay for Life, Post Office Box 158, Hampton, South
Carolina 29924; or to the charity of one's choice. The Brice Herndon
and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel was in charge of the

RIDGELAND - Mr. Thomas Abraham
Mason, 93, of Ridgeland, formerly of Hampton, died Thursday, July
31, 2008. Mr. Mason was born May 15, 1915 in Hampton County and was
the son of the late David Pinckney Mason and Asenath Davidson
Mason.
Surviving are: nephews, James A. Ernst (Evelyn) of Brunson
and Larry M. Ernst (Deanna) of Longmont, CO; great nephew, SPC Paul
D. Ernst (Valarie) of Ft. Jackson; great nieces, Lesley Ernst of
Longmont, CO and Dana Ellis (Chris) of Cottageville; great great
niece, Gwen Ernst; great great nephews, Dean Bowlin and Hayden
Steele. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law,
Edna Lee Mason Ernst and David.
Services were held Saturday,
August 2, 2008 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home,
Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment was in the Hampton Cemetery. The
Brice W. Herndon and Sons, Varnville-Hampton Chapel, was in charge

Freeman
HAMPTON - Mrs. Faye All Freeman,
81, of Horseshoe Road, died Friday morning, August 1, 2008 in the
Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro after an extended
illness.
Born July 21, 1927 in Ulmer (Allendale County), SC, she was
the daughter of the late Charlie Franklin All, Sr. and Flossie
Rebecca Shaw All. She had worked, until her retirement, with Davan
Mfg. Company and Dow-Badische Co., both in Allendale County and was
a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church in Hampton.
Surviving are: Two daughters,
Mary Benton and husband Ernest of Brunson and Janet Ulmer and
husband Randy of Lodge; four sons: Arthur Earl Ayer and wife Mary of
Olar, Gregory Eugene Altman of Hampton, Hugh F. Freeman and wife
Linda of Brunson and Charles Jeff Freeman and wife Carol of Hampton;
one brother, Jake All of Meridan, MS and one sister, Mable Willis of
Columbia. There are 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She
was predeceased by her husbands, Arthur Earl Ayer, Sr., Robbie
Eugene Altman and Lewis Franklin Freeman.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 3 PM in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden
Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Paul Reid. Burial was in
the Sandy Run Cemetery. Memorials in her honor may be directed to
Sandy Run Cemetery Association, PO Box 252, Hampton, SC 29924.

Martha Oreen
Smith
VARNVILLE - Martha Oreen Smith,
80, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Ashley River Tower Hospital in
Charleston.
Ms. Martha Oreen Smith, daughter
of the late Mr. John "Suber" and Mrs. Florrie Johnson, was born
August 5, 1927 in Early Branch. She received her education in the
public school system of Hampton County. At an early age, Ms. Smith
joined Wilkerson Missionary Baptist Church, Early Branch. The former
Ms. Martha Oreen Johnson met and was united in Holy Matrimony to the
late Mr. Curtis Smith. Later in life, she relocated to Baltimore,
Md. where she remained for many years. She was gainfully employed as
a cosmetologist assistant during her tenure in Baltimore. After
returning to her native town, she reunited with Wilkerson Missionary
Baptist Church. There she served the Lord until Ms. Smith moved to
Varnville. She later became a member of Samaritan Missionary Baptist
Church, Varnville.
Eight (8) sisters and seven (7)
brothers preceded her in death. Surviving are: (2) Sisters: Ms.
Oneal Williams of Brunson and Mrs. Margaret Major of Varnville; (2)
Brothers-in-law: Mr. Adam Major of Varnville and Mr. Richmond Smith
of Ecru, Mississippi; (1) Sister-in-law: Mrs. Estell Smith of Ecru,
Mississippi; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving
friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2008, 11:00
a.m., at Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville. Burial will
follow in Wilkerson Cemetery. Washington's Funeral Home of Hampton

Graef
VARNVILLE- Mr. Leo Berlon Graef,
75, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Roper Hospital.
Mr. Graef was born April 4, 1933
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was a son of the late Nicholas Graef
and Edna Yarborough Graef. He served his country in the United
States Navy during the Korean War. Leo served the Lord faithfully
and was an active member of Open Arms Fellowship.
Surviving are: his wife, Ann
Graef; sons, Timothy Graef and his wife Carol of Orangeburg and
William Graef and his wife Valerie of Mulhall, Oklahoma; daughters,
Tammy Kinard and her husband Clay of Varnville and Kimberly
Rickenbaker and her husband Baron of Brunswick, Georgia; brothers,
Billy Graef and his wife Donna of Orlando, Oklahoma and Darrell
Graef and his wife Pat of Mulhall, Oklahoma; sisters, Linda Thomas
and Carolyn Kyle, both of Perry, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren: Matthew
G., Tiffany, Travis, Matthew K., Kelsey and Zachary; and 3 great
grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held 4
o'clock, Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Open Arms Fellowship. Memorials

Davis Solomons
ESTILL - Mrs. Berniece Davis
Solomons, 93, widow of Algernon Gibson Solomons, died Sunday, July
27, 2008 in the Hampton Regional Medical
Center.
Born August 10, 1914, near
Garnett, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William
Fletcher Davis and Etta Marie Hodges Davis. A graduate of Estill
High School in June, 1931, she and Algie Solomons were married on
October 1, 1932, and were married for forty-seven years before he
predeceased her in 1979. As a child, she dedicated her life to
Christian service when she joined Lebanon Methodist Church when it
was an active congregation. As an adult, she was a lifelong member
of Estill United Methodist Church where, as a faithful member, she
served her church in many capacities, including as a Sunday School
teacher and as a member and past president of the Women's Missionary
Union. She was a member and past president of the Estill Music and
Study Club, a board member of the Lebanon Cemetery Association, and
a member emeritus of the Hampton County Historical Society; she also
enjoyed playing bridge with friends in her bridge club. She and her
late husband were the owners of Estill Insurance Agency for many
years.
Surviving are: One daughter,
Berniece Elizabeth Solomons Appleby and her husband, Bobby; a son,
Algernon Gibson Solomons, Jr., and his wife, Lillian, all of Estill;
a son-in-law, Dr. Cyril Berwyn Rush of Timmonsville; and a brother,
Louis Fletcher Davis of Hardeeville. Other survivors include eight
grandchildren; Catherine Appleby Storey of Simpsonville, Cyril
Berwyn Rush, Jr., of Columbia, Dr. Paul Fletcher Rush of Laurinburg,
NC, Elizabeth Rush Hidlay of Charlottesville, VA, Bernice Rush
Critcher of Laurinburg, NC, Algernon Gibson Solomons III of Estill,
McKenzie Davis Solomons of Mt. Pleasant, and Julia Solomons Lucas of
Estill. There are sixteen great grandchildren, one great-great
grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her
parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Lucie
Solomons Rush; a son, Michael Brown Solomons; a nephew raised as a
son, Samuel Benjamin Solomons; three sisters, Ernestine Davis
Brookes, Louise Davis, and Adele Davis Davis; and one brother,
William Herbert Davis.
Services were held Wednesday,
July 30, 2008 at 11 AM in the Estill United Methodist Church in
Estill with burial in the Lawtonville Cemetery. Memorials may be
made to Estill United Methodist Church, PO Box 70, Estill, SC 29918
or Lebanon Cemetery Association, c/o Vera Cooper, PO Box 52, Furman,

NIXVILLE - Linda Gant, 49, died
Friday, July 25 at her home in Nixville.
Ms. Linda Gant the daughter of
the late Benjamin Gant and the late Vidalia Williams Gant was born
August 17, 1958 in Furman. She was educated in the public schools of
Hampton County. She was preceded in death by her parents and one
sister.
Surviving are: Five children, Ms.
Leslie Gant, Mr. Travis (Kimberly Gant) all of Estill; Mrs. Yulonda
(Anthony) Hutchinson, Mr. Thomas Gant all of Nixville, and Mr.
Gabriel Gant, Pooler, GA; four sisters, Ms. Alice M. Gant, Furman,
Ms. Barbara Gant, Estill, Ms. Betty Gant, Tarboro, and Mrs. Faye
(Rubin) Cohen, Gifford; five brothers, Mr. Cleveland (Carolyn) Gant,
Augusta, GA, Mr. Luther (Linda) Gant, and Mr. Johnny Gant all of
Furman, SC, Mr. Tony (Elizabeth) Gant, Estill, and Mr. Kenneth
(Laura) Mitchell, Lena; eight aunts, Mrs. Verdell (Joseph) Gant,
Furman, Mrs. Dorothy Russell and Mrs. Alvester Winzey both of
Atlanta, GA, Ms. Rebecca Williams and Mrs. Ruby Lee Greene both of
Savannah, GA, Mrs. Johnnie Mae (Elvin) Wright, Ridgeland, Ms. Reatha
Mae Gant, Hampton, and Mrs. Aleen Gant, Beaufort; five uncles, Mr.
McAurther (Angie) Williams, Mr. Richard (Floria Jane) Williams, Mr.

ESTILL - Sarah Florence Garvin
Singleton, 84, died Sunday, July 20, 2008.
Mrs. Singleton was the daughter
of the late Angeline Taylor Garvin and the late Issac Garvin, Sr.
She was born November 20, 1923 in Luray. She was educated in the
public schools of Hampton County. She was a member of Goodwill
Baptist Church, Independent Order of Good Samaritans, Daughters of
Samaria U.S. of America District # 2.
Surviving are: Two grandchildren,
Edward Singleton, Jr., Estill, SC and Ms. Ronita Singleton,
Washington, Pennsylvania; One sister, Mrs. Frances Owens, Newark,
NJ; One aunt, Mrs. Daisy Bostick, Robertsville; One uncle, Franklin
Taylor, Sr., Robertsville, SC ; Six great grandchildren; a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service was held
Saturday, July 26, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at Goodwill Baptist Church Luray,
SC with burial in the Goodwill Baptist Church cemetery. John Eli

“Jack” Winn
BALTIMORE, MD - Mr. Bobbie O.
“Jack” Winn, 84, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 in a Baltimore hospital
after an extended illness.
Born July 10, 1922 in Hampton, he
was the son of the late John Winn and Clara Peeples Winn. Mr. Winn
graduated from Varnville High School, and then served his country in
the United States Army. He had been a postmaster in Sheldon for many
years but was currently living in Baltimore.
Surviving are: His wife of 61
years, Patricia Tillson Winn; two daughters: Carol Winn and Pamela
Krofchick ; one grandson: Niel krofchick; two brothers: John Mike
Winn of Hampton and Jesse E. Winn of Aiken. He was predeceased by 5
sisters and 4 brothers. A memorial service was held in Baltimore, MD
and burial followed in the National Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.

Josselson
YEMASSEE - Mr. Benjamin
Josselson, 86, of Salkehatchie Road , died Saturday, July 26, 2008,
in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Born May 26, 1922 in Yemassee, he
was the son of the late Benjamin Josselson, Sr. and Annie Elizabeth
Boynton Josselson. After graduating in 1943 from Clemson College,
Mr. Josselson served his country in the United States Army during
World War II in the European Theater and afterward he was a member
of the SC National Guard, retiring as a 1st Lt. He began his career
as a farmer, was a rice planter in the Savannah Refuge, was the
owner of Melons, Inc., a watermelon brokerage company and also was
the owner of Kingstowne, Inc., an outdoor advertising business. He
was a member of the Hampton County Chamber of Commerce, the SC
Watermelon Association and Ebenezer United Methodist Church, having
served for many years as the chairman of the finance committee.
Surviving are: His wife of 60
years, Adelaide Best Josselson; his two daughters, Lynn J. Land and
husband Joseph Land of Charleston and Robyn J. Shirley and husband
Dr. Paul Shirley of Bluffton; and his niece, Orral Anne Willis Moss
of Beaufort. He is also survived by the his granddaughters, Mary
Courtney L. Brooks of Charleston, Meredith L. Moore of Dallas, TX,
Lauren Land of New York City, NY and Adelaide Shirley and Anna
Camden Shirley, both of Bluffton.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, June 29 at 11 AM in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Burial was private. In leiu of flowers, the family requests that
memorials be made in his honor to: Ebenezer United Methodist Church,

Col. Hazil Lee Holley
HAMPTON - Col. Hazil Lee Holley, retired USAF, 86, died July
25, 2008.
Born July 1, 1922, in Kershaw
County, SC, he was the son of the late Willie Fletcher Holley and
Rosa Roberts Holley. After graduating from Allendale High School in
1939, he attended the University of SC before entering the United
States Air Force in 1941 where he graduated from flight school as a
pilot. He served his country during World War II in the European
Theater, the Korean Conflict in Tokyo, Japan and also during the
Viet Nam War while stationed in Thailand, He later retired after 32
years of military service. He was a member of the American Legion
Post 108 in Hampton and the Adult IV Mens Bible Class at Hampton
First Baptist Church where he was an active member.
Surviving are: His wife of 65
years, Audrey Dobson Holley of the home; 3 sons: John B. Holley and
James G. “Jim” Holley and wife Robin, all of Hampton and Tom W.
Holley and wife Alison of Summerville; two daughters: Ann Holley
Smith and husband Joe of Cumming, GA and Brenda Leigh Holley of
Summerville; one brother, Fletcher Holley of Knoxville, TN and one
sister, Jean Mims of Springfield, GA. He is also survived by his
beloved grandchildren: Phillip Lee King, Glenna Maureen Holley,
Keely C. Holley, and Hunter T. Holley; his step granddaughter,
Ashlyn Salvo and his great grandchildren: Brandon, Cameron, Sydney
and Candace as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his grandson, Robert S. King, III and brothers Willie
and Paul Holley.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, July 27 at 3 PM in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home
with burial in the Lawtonville Cemetery near Estill. Memorials in

Michael Graham Platts
BRUNSON - Michael Graham Platts, 26, died Wednesday, July 9,
2008. To his many friends, he was known as Big
Country.Michael was born on Jan. 15, 1982. He was a 2000 graduate of
Wade Hampton High School. He attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical
College and graduated in 2002 with honors. Michael was an avid
hunter and fisherman. He was a six-year employee of Scotsman Ice
Systems where he earned several awards for attendance and
performance. He was engaged to Jessica Cheek of Barnwell. He was a
member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are: His parents, Jim
and Linda Platts; two brothers, Scott of Manchester, Tenn; Robert
and wife, Rhiannon, of Fairfax; grandmother, Doris
Collins.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, July 13 at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the Bethel
Baptist Church Cemetery. Keith Smith Funeral Home was in charge of

Leroy Williams
YEMASSEE - Luther Leroy Williams,
73, of the Roadside community, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at his
residence.
Born March 20, 1935, Cherokee
Plantation, Yemassee, SC, he was a son of Prince and Emma Elliott
Williams. He resided most of his life in Colleton County, SC, where
he attended the public schools. He was united in marriage on March
21, 1959, to Frankie Lee Mixon, together they shared forty-nine
years and was blessed with nine children. Luther served three years
in the United States Arny. He was employed with the Charleston
Rubber Company, Charleston, SC for many years, He was a retired
employee of
the Colleton County Sheriff's Department, Walterboro.
Surviving are: his wife, Frankie
Lee Mixon Williams, five sons, one who preceded him in death,
Micheal Vantroy Williams, Luther (Gina) Williams, Aiea, Hawaii,
Master sergeant (Retired) R,. C (Lucy)Williams, Winston-Salem, NC,
Master Sergeant Johnny (Audrey) Williams, Columbia, Ga, Jerome
(Miranda) Williams, Swansea SC, and one step-son , James (Marilyn)
Mixon, Washington, NJ; three daughters, Brenda Bodison, Yemassee, sC
Sergeant First Class Wanda (Kevin) Dessow, Stockbridge, Ga and
Derlie Stephens, Elgin, SC, a granddaughter reared in the home,
Specialist Ashley L. Williams, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, four
brothers, one who preceded him in death, Haskell (Carolyn) Williams.

(Alma) Williams, Prince (Bessie) Williams, Walterboro, SC; five
sisters, one who proceeded him in death, Evelena Washington, Maggie

(Willie) Delaney, all of Yemassee, sC; three brothers-in-law, Robert
(Lovely) Mixon, Cambria Heights, NY, Curtis (Mildred) Mixon,
Waterbury, CT, and John (Carol) Mixon, Uemassee, SC, 25
grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, an uncle, James (Naomi)
Smith, Yemassee, sC an aunt, Louise Elliott, Beaufort, SC; numerous
other relatives.
Funeral services were held on
Saturday, July 19, 12 noon in the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Yemassee.
Burial was in the Church Cemetery with military honors. Young

William Polk Ginn
GOOSE
CREEK - Mr. William Polk Ginn, 73, retired principal, of 205
Hawkridge Place in Goose Creek, died Monday evening, July 14, 2008
in the Trident Medical Center in Charleston.
Born August 11, 1934 in
Varnville, SC, he was the son of the late Edward Robert Ginn, Jr.
and Irene Smith Ginn. Mr. Ginn served his country with honor in the
United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a graduate of
Clemson University and received degrees from SC State University and
the Citadel. For over 20 years he enlightened the lives of many as a
school teacher and later serving as principal at Blackville High
School, Blackville Middle School and Bamberg-Ehrhardt Elementary
School. He and his wife Carolyn later retired to Fingerville where
they lived for many years, eventually settling in Goose Creek.
He is survived by his wife
Carolyn Tanner Ginn of the home; one son, Walter Edward Ginn and
wife Lynn of Irmo; one daughter, Carolyn Louise Juricek and husband
John of Goose Creek; one brother, James Ginn of Anderson and one

Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 11 AM in the Varnville Christian Church,
conducted by Rev. Anthony Hodge. Burial was in the Varnville
Cemetery.

Sheppard Wooten
LENA- Mrs. Lemerle Sheppard
Wooten, 88, of Lena, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 15,
2008 at Hampton Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of the
late Henry Montague Wooten.
Mrs. Wooten was born December 6,
1919 in Treutlen County, Georgia and was a daughter of the late
Jackson Sheppard and Sarah Lou “Ludie” White Sheppard. She was a
retired supervisor from Estill Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Wooten
was a member of Nixville Baptist Church. After retiring, she spent
her time caring for others.
Surviving are: her daughters,
Jacqueline McBride of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Sally Jo Moore and
her husband Reverend Charles Moore of Hampton; sons, John Henry
Wooten, Sr. and his wife Reba of Nixville, Charles R. “Randy”
Wooten, Sr. and his wife Sheryl of Grays and George Montague “Monty”
Wooten and special friend Edith Alward of Lena; 18 grandchildren; 36
great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Hugh
Wooten, Sr. and his wife Catherine B. “Kitty” Wooten; grandson,
David Jackson Wooten; brothers, Theodore Sheppard and Elzie Jackson
Sheppard; and sister, Geneva Sheppard.
Funeral services were held 11
o'clock, Friday, July 18, 2008 at Nixville Baptist Church. Interment
followed in the church cemetery. The Brice W. Herndon and Sons
Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel, was in charge of the

ESTILL - Mrs. Willie Mae
Robinson, 70, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Heritage Health Care
of the Lowcountry in Estill.
Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of
Julia Doe and the late Coleman Doe. She was born April 12, 1938 in
Hampton County. She was educated in the public schools of Hampton
County and was a member of First Estill Baptist Church where served
as a member of the senior choir and usher board. She was employed by
Holiday Inn, Hilton Head.
Surviving are: Her loving
husband, Mr. Herbert Robinson, Jr., Estill; Her mother, Mrs. Julia
Doe Bailey, Estill; 2 Daughters, Mrs. Ann Washington and Ms. Shelia
(Darryl) Robinson, all of Estill, SC; 3 Sons, Mr. Jerald Robinson,
New York, New York, Mr. Milton (Marsha) and Herbert (Jacqueline)
Robinson all of Estill, SC; 5 Sisters, Mrs. Lula Mae (Harry) Gordon
and Ms. Daisy Beckett all of Newark, NJ, Ms. Cheryl Doe, Florence,
Ms. Janice Parker and Ms. Kim Doe both of Conway; 3 Brothers, Mr.
Coleman (Rosa) Doe, Jr. and Mr. Anthony Doe all of Conway, and Mr.
John Henry (Yvonne) Doe, Wilmington, NC; Stepbrother, Jimmie Gowans,
Atlanta, GA; Stepsister, Barbara Morrow, Las Vegas, NV; One
sister-in-law, Ms. Rosean Robinson; One brother-in-law, H. M.
Robinson; Special goddaughter, Ms. Tiffany Hall; 11 grandchildren; 8
great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends;
two special friends, Ola Nella Martin, Estill, and Lillie Bell

with burial in the First Estill Baptist Church Cemetery, Estill.

King
EASLEY - Juanita Long King, 68,
widwo of Emory Brooks King, of 200 Nalley Street, died July 17, 2008
at her residence.
Mrs. King was born in Hampton
County. She was a daughter of the late George henry Long and Mary
Pauline Sanders Long. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist
Church and
the Inspiration Bible Fellowship class.
Surviving are: Daughters, Faye
Jarrell and Julie Sauls, both of Easley; Debra Sauls of Central;
Rita Burns and husband Phil of Liberty; Lynn Reeves and husband
Keith of Liberty; stepdaughter, Janice Carter and husband Michael of
Lexington; sisters, Kathleen Groves of Walterboro; Eunice Campbell
of Travelers Rest; brothers, Marion Long, Carl Long and Marshall
Long, all of Estill; Leroy Long of Aiken; grandchildren, Ashton adn
Nick Reeves and Blake Burns, all of Liberty and step granddaughter,
Ashley Carter of Lexington.
Mrs. King was preceded in death
by two brothers, J.P. Long and Rudolph Long, and a stepson, Woody
King.

p.m. Sunday, July 20 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr.
David Gallamore officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial
Park and Gardens. Dillard Funeral Home of Pickens was in charge of

Hampton , May 7. – Thos. Addison, of the firm of Thos. Addison
& Bros. of Brunson, S. C., died very suddenly this afternoon at
about 4 o’clock . The cause of death is supposed to be apoplexy.

Brunson, Aug. 21. – James Herriot, a well known
citizen of Brunson, 69 years of age, died at his residence here this
week. He is survived by a large number of relatives. [State - 22

Brunson, July 25. – The death of
one of the oldest citizens of the community occurred Thursday at his
residence, one mile north of Brunson, when Capt. W. E. Brunson, a resident here all of
his life, died. Capt. Brunson was a veteran of the War Between the
Sections, serving in the Third regiment, South Carolina
calvary. He has a large number of relatives in this section
and is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. L. B. Tuten of
