Hughes Mr. Hughes was born in Horry County, a son of Minnie Lee Barnhill Hughes and the late James Murry Hughes. He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. Mr. Hughes was a farmer. He was a loving husband and father. Mr. Hughes enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, camping and softball. He was predeceased by a brother, James Donald Hughes. Surviving in addition to his mother of Galivants Ferry are: his wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Ard Hughes of Galivants Ferry; one son, Donald Micheal Hughes of Galivants Ferry; one daughter, Laura Ann Gibbs and her husband Shane of Aynor; mother-in-law, Rae Woodward of Conway; two brothers, Billy Hughes, Glenny Hughes both of Galivants Ferry; three sisters, Carolyn Baxley, Marvidean Frye both of Galivants Ferry, and Bernice Bryant of Aynor; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3:30 PM Saturday at Rehobeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Earl Nobles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements. (Date: 1/30/2008)
