Doris Vanderhoff
Aynor.....Doris Joy Cooke Vanderhoff, age 76, of Gum Street Ext., died Thursday, September 6, 2007.

Mrs. Vanderhoff was born in Brooklyn, WV, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Betty Wilson Smith. She was predeceased by two husbands, James Lloyd Cooke and Urban T. Vanderhoff; a daughter, Rebeccah Lynn Cooke; three brothers, Esrom Smith, Ballard Smith and John Smith; two sisters, Twila Kirkwood and Betty Paitsel.

Surviving are: two sons, Andrew Benjamin Cooke and wife Rebekah Cooper Cooke of Conway, SC and Samuel Lloyd Cooke of Aynor, SC; two grandchildren, Andrea Rebekah Beall and husband Patrick and Andrew Benjamin Cooke II and wife Jennifer all of Conway, SC; four grandchildren, Aaron and Ryan Beall and Sara and Lauren Cooke; three sisters, Freda Pennington of Elkin, NC, Beulah Graves of Virginia Beach, VA and Shirley Arthur of Oak Hill, WV.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Rehobeth Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to First United Pentecostal Church, 906 Main Street, Conway, SC 29526.  Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements. (Anonymous, unknown newspaper 2007)

Michael Young
Michael Young, age 54, of Bud Graham Road, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Conway Medical Center.

Mr. Young was born in Marion, a son of the late John Oliver and Lula Mae Snipes Young. He was a devout christian and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Director, on several committees, and a former deacon twice. Mr. Young was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served with the 101st Airborne Division and was in the National Guard for several years. He enjoyed several hobbies such as spot fishing, riding his Harley-Davidson and his golf cart while visiting with his friends. Mr. Young was currently employed as service manager of Aynor Tire Mart.

Suriving are his wife Bonnie C. Young of Galivants Ferry; one daughter Cindy Williamson and her husband Mark of Galivants Ferry and two grandchildren Brittany Ellis and Dustin Williamson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
