Struck by Lightning Mr. Henry W. Parkman of Eulala Instantly Killed--a Sad Calamity News reached this city on Monday morning of the sad and
tragic death of Mr. Henry D. Parkman, of the Eulala section. On Sunday
evening about dark Mr. Parkman had occasion to go into his yard. When
returning to his residence a terrific electric bolt burst upon him,
producing instant death. His wife, hearing the loud demonstration and
fearing that something had happened, rushed to the door and peering
through the darkness discovered her husband lying on the ground. His
clothing had been set on fire by the stroke.
Mr. Parkman’s age was 32 years. He leaves a wife and five

Many years ago, before the war, Mr. Jas. Parkman, the

lightning but escaped serious injury. His clothes were badly torn and his
survival is considered miraculous.
