On the 11th of Frebruary 1844 she was united in marriage to her now bereaved and disconsolate husband and on the 21st of May 1845 died in the town of Hamburg, SC leaving an infant daughter only one day old. As in life they lived so in death they wished to be reunited. "Sleep on my wife, my loving wife; thy husband soon will come and drown once more the cares of life beside thee in the tomb. With thee he'll slumber in the dust, until the morning rise when Jesus shall awake the just to meet him in the skies."
