Ruby Edwards Walhalla, SC -Ruby
Wyatt Edwards, wife of the late George T. Edwards, of 106 Evergreen
Drive, Westminster, SC, died Friday, December 23, 2005 at Oconee
Memorial Hospital. A native of Oconee County, Ms. Edwards was
the daughter of the late Walker and Bessie Gillespie Wyatt. She was
a retired general manager at Tri-County Builders Supply, a member of
the Guardian Adlitens and Westminster Baptist Church. Ms.
Edwards is survived by: Daughters: Judie Ballenger, Joyce Young,
Westminster, SC, Columbia, SC Brothers: Billy Wyatt, Bobby
Wyatt, Seneca, SC, La Grange, GA. Ms. Edwards is also survived
by grandchildren, Shane Boggs, Zachary Ballenger, and Robin Clayton;
and great-grandchildren, Jennifer Boggs and Justin Boggs. In
addition to her husband and parents Ms. Edwards is predeceased by
sisters, Hazel Cleveland,Rachel LouAllen, and Lois Pitts.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Monday, December 26,
2005 at Westminster Baptist Church with burial in Oconee Memorial
Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM,
Sunday, December 25, 2005 at Davenport. In lieu of flowers
memorials may be made to the Guardian Adliten, 190 Scenic Plaza,

Walhalla, April 9. – C. A. Burton, one of Walhalla’s prominent
citizens, died yesterday afternoon at his residence. While his
health had not been good for some time still he was busy the past
week and yesterday afternoon had walked down street and a short time
afterwards, while sitting in his plaza he suddenly fell over dead.
Many years ago Mr. Burton came here from Anderson county and has
been a good citizen. Besides his widow he leaves four
children: Robert and Miss Minnie of Walhalla, Albert Burton of
Atlanta and Mrs. Essie Walters of Madison . His funeral
services were held from the Walhalla Baptist church yesterday
afternoon at 3 o’clock , Rev. S. C. Blackburn, officiating. Mr.
Burton was a member of the Walhalla Baptist church. [State –

Mrs. Elizabeth
Dennington, one hundred and nine years of age, died in
Oconee County on the 2d instant. She was the mother of nine
children, and at the time of her death was living with her youngest
child who is sixty-six years old. [Aiken Tribune (Aiken, South

Walhalla, Feb. 26. – Mrs.
Alethia Beatty died at her residence three miles north of
Walhalla at an early hour Thursday, after an illness of two weeks
with pneumonia. She was the widow of the late Charles Beatty.
The funeral services were conducted from her late residence
yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock by her pastor, the Rev. J. L.
Stokes, D. D. , after which her remains were laid to rest in the
Bethel cemetery beside those of her husband. Besides three
daughters, Mrs. Fred Brown of Walhalla, Mrs. James Angel of Atlanta
and Mrs. Onia Cummings of Washington , D.C. , she leaves three
brothers, two sisters and her mother, Mrs. Rebecca Fricks, who is
now in her 95th year, and is considered hopelessly ill of pneumonia.
One brother, J. L. O. Fricks, and one sister, Mrs. R. F. Kaufmann,
reside in Walhalla. Mrs. Beatty’s sister, Mrs. J. C. Scheulter, and
her daughter, Mrs. Cummings of Washington , were present at the

Mrs. Attillia
Adair, wife of Wm. Adair, died on Tuesday, 28th instant,
aged seventy-three years. Her body was buried Wednesday in the
family burying ground near Conneross. [Keowee courier. (Pickens

We regret to chronlile tho
death, from organic heart disease, of Mrs. Sarah J. Anderson, which occurred at tho
residence of her son. Mr. Wm. P. Anderson, Westminster, S. C., on
Tuesday morning, June 28, 1898, at half-past three o'clock. Mrs.
Anderson had been in failing health several months and her death was
not unexpected, She was a Miss Blakeley before her marriage, and was
born in Laurens county, S. C., on September 25, 1834. Early in life
she united herself with the Presbyterial, church, and for fifty
years had been a pious, faithful and zealous member, her membership
was with the Piedmont church. Her body will be laid to rest in tho
cemetery at Fairview church, in Greenville county, on Wednesday
