Brother of Frank Schroder Will be Buried in
Walhalla Lieut. Commander John H. F. Schroder, formerly of
Walhall, died at the Naval Hospital, San Diego, Calif., Monday
following a three-week illness of a heart ailment. He
was 43 years of age.
A graduate of Clemson college, he
moved from Walhalla in 1921 to Bloomfield, N.J., where he was
connected with this firm until a year ago when he entered the
Navy as an officer.
Lieut. Commander Schroder married
Miss Ann C. gangren, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who survives him with
the following brother and sisters. Frank K. Schroder, of
walhalla; Mrs. Charles stiles, of Nutley, N.J., and Mrs. L. A.
Roumiliat, of New York city.
The body will arrive in
Walhalla Sunday and the funeral will be held Monday afternoon
at 4 o'clock. The place of the funeral has not been

Schroder Rites Be Held At 4 WALHALLA, May 9.—Funeral
services for Lieut. Comdr. John H. Schroder, U. S. Navy, who
died in a naval hospital at San Diego, Calf., will be
conducted in St. Luke's Methodist church here Monday at 4 p.
m. by Rev. J. K. Walker, Rev. R. S. Cooper and Rev. Ben M.
Clark. Burial will be in West View cemetery. Pallbearers will
be J. H. Seaborn, E E. Abbott. D. B. Darby, G. B. Rhodes, J.
R. Clark, D. T. McLees, C. E. Parker and W. M. Earle.

M. Earle. The body will be taken to the church from the Ansel

craft became entangled and he dived overboard to free the
obstruction. He never resurfaced, and his body was later
recovered.
