First let me start with the name Rice this is Patronymic origan' which were many medieval names. Now

let's  take a look at this. It comes from  the first name  of the father' so just keep looking at the name Rice' what does the surname Rice mean? Well the surname Rice simply means the son of  Rhy's. It  may  sometimes be seen as Rees which that simply means ardour. This a very popular Welsh name all this is  because  of the deeds of the Welsh Princes of their name. We must study  this name Rice even more. For instance; Rhy's ap Tewdwr checked the Norman advance into Wales .While his grandson was appointed Henry 11's Welsh deputy. This is something as we discover interesting facts about the Rice's. Now listen to this -  'the Rice's had a motto which was for certain God feeds the Ravens. This coat of arms of the ravens the shields' and helmet' was issued to an ancient forbearer of the name Rice many many years ago. This has been traced way back to as early as 1198 talking about the name Rice. For the most part  the Rice's come from Wales. This is truthfully what I have been able to come up with. Ultimately and technically this is very true. But we have to let  you know that probably not all Rice's come from Wales. Some come from England most of the English Rice's come from Wales. But we come up with ones which were called Reisses which come from  Germany.

[Betsy]  Kennemer Rice was the daughter of John Kennemer and Elizabeth Lesley. Isaac Rice Sr. and Betsy Rice had 9 children. Isaac Rice Jr.' Lewis' Jordan' Nancy ' Elizabeth' Viney' Susan' and Amanda. Ican only find 8 children. May have been another but this is the only list that I have this list may not be in order.

With the research that I have done I think that Lewis was the oldest child. Jordan Rice married Millie Alexander' she was born December 11th. 1818 and she died  February 13th. 1892.  Now she was the daughter of  Thomas and Mary Alexander. both of them are buried  at the family  cemetery near Crow Creek.

James T. Rice

Mr. James T. Rice was born in the year 1850. And his wife Jane Alexander Rice was born in the year

James Lemuel Rice

1851.Which they had two sons.

They were the mother and daddy of James Lemuel Rice' and they were the mother and daddy of Bennie D. Rice' and of course they lived in Shady Grove Section of Pickens County S.C. He was a farmer and he enjoyed working on his farm.

On aCertificate of Death it say's that his full name is James Taylor Rice and also on this certificate it say's he was born 1849 in March' Not 1850. He died Jan'26' 1919 and was 70 years of age. His fathers name was Isaac Rice and his mothers name was Annie Black Rice. I'am trying to get these dates right but sometimes they give two dates -  1910 census, 1850 and certificate of death 1849. So I believe that the certificate of death is right. But anyway  I'am so glad I'm able to get this.
