Willie G. Fuller Dies; Funeral Plans Incomplete

Willie G. Fuller, 93, retired farmer, of 302 Oliver Street, West Columbia, died suddenly at 5:10 yesterday afternoon at his home. Mr. Fuller was a member of Capers’ Chapel Methodist Church in the Dutch Fork section. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. W. E. Meetze of West Columbia, Mrs. R. G. Hedgepath of Columbia, Mrs. L. J. Watson of Charlotte, N. C., W. L Fuller of Strother, C. O. Fuller of Monticello, G. B. Fuller of Newberry, and E. G. Fuller of California; 43 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Thompson Funeral Home.

Alyce Fetner

Columbia - Service for Alyce Lucille Nunn Fetner, 91, will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the graveside in Elmwood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. James United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel Mrs. Fetner, wife of the late James Thomas Fetner, Sr., died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Will D. and Pansy Harrison Nunn. She was a graduate of Edgewood High School and Columbia Business College. She retired from the Veterans Administration Regional Office after 45 years of service and a charter member of St. James United Methodist Church and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.

Surviving are sons, James T. Fetner, Jr. of Red Bank and Charles W. Fetner of Columbia; sister Gladys N. Harvey of Greer; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nephew Ben D. Harvey of Greenville; a nice, Billie June rooks of Columbia. She was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Nunn Smith. (The State, Columbia, South Carolina - Saturday, December 7, 1996) 

Mrs. W. G. Fuller

Mrs. George Ann Elizabeth Fuller, 62, wife of W. G. Fuller, died at 5 o’clock yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. E. Meetze of 83 Oliver Street, New Brookland, after and illness of long duration.

She was a member of Capers’ Chapel Methodist church near Peak, where she formerly lived. For the last six weeks she had been in Columbia for medical treatment and for the last two weeks of that time she had been staying with her daughter in New Brookland. Before marriage she was Miss George Ann Elizabeth Amick of Peak. Her many friends regret to learn of her death.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W. E. Meetze of New Brookland, Mrs. R. C. Hedgepath of Columbia, Mrs. L. J. Watson of Oxford, N. C., and Miss Berdell Fuller of Peak, six sons, H.C. Fuller of Strother, W. L. Fuller of Dawkins, G. B. Fuller of Newberry, Carl R. Fuller of Charlotte, Clarence Fuller, and Glenn Fuller of Peak; one sister, Mrs. George H. Meetze of Peak; two brothers, T. W. Amick of Peak, and J. H. Amick of Spartanburg; also by 25 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock this afternoon at her residence near Peak, conducted by the Rex. E. Z. Pence, pastor Mt. Tabor Lutheran church, assisted by the Rec. Mr. Weeks, pastor of Chapin Methodist church. Interment will take place in the family burial ground.

The pallbearers will be’ James E. Eargle, Y. L. Addy, B. Y. Summers, Levi Stuck, Evans Eargle and Sinerand Summers.

Archibald Fetner

MT. PLEASANT - Archibald Campbell Fetner, Jr., 95, of 1049 Anna Knapp Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina died at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Sandpiper Nursing Home, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He was the husband of Estelle Ollie Shealy Fetner.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina July 26, 1908, he was a son of the late Archibald Campbell Fetner, Sr., and May Doar Sineath. Archie was a retired Naval Shipyard Machinist.

He was a member of St. Michael¹s Lutheran Church, Columbia, South Carolina, a member of Lutheran Men in Mission, former council member, Sunday School teacher, and secretary of the church. A member of Hammerton Lodge 32, North Charleston, South Carolina and the Huguenot Society.

Surviving are his wife, Estelle Ollie Shealy Fetner, of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Patricia McCann of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Archie Fetner III, of Charleston and Larry Fetner of Leesville; one sister, Mary Brigman of Lexington; two daughters-in-law, Mitzi Fetner of Charleston, and Jan Fetner of Leesville; six grandchildren, Patricia Gramling-Warner, William Ingram, Tara Hulsey, Tiffany Blankenship, Ashley Schaefer, and Travis Fetner; nine great grandchildren, Joel Gramling, Jessica Gramling, Amanda Ingram, Reese Blankenship, Harthe Blankenship, Macy McComb, Brice Schaefer, Bradley Fetner, and Brandon Fetner.

Pallbearers will be: Joel Gramling, Jimmy Culbertson, Jimmy Brigman, Jr., Ralph Fetner, Ted Fetner, and Ray Cannon.  Appreciation is expressed by the family for your presence and your many acts of kindness that have been shown.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at St. Michael¹s Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/ St. Andrews Chapel.

FUNERAL TODAY MRS. DERRICK

Rites at St. Thomas’ Church for Mother of University Faculty Member

Lexington- Feb. 23- Funeral services for Mrs. Aquilla Derrick, 73, mother of Dr. S. M. Derrick of the University of South Carolina, will be held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at St. Thomas’ Lutheran church. The Rev. J.D. Wessinger will conduct the rites and interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Derrick died suddenly near Chapin yesterday afternoon.

In addition to Dr. Derrick she is survived by he following daughters and sons; Mrs. H. Julian Shealy, Chapin; Mrs. P. H. Derrick and Mrs. P. F. Shealy of Lexington; E. B. Derrick and G. A. Derrick of Chapin; the Rev. J.P. Derrick, Woodstock, Va.; R. A. Derrick, Veteran’s Hospital, Columbia. One daughter, Mrs. E. M. Stoudemire died about three years ago. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be member of her church’s council. (1935)  

Davis Rites

Services for Mrs. Mamie Epting Porter Davis will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Charles H. Rabon and C. W. McNair. Burial will be in the Porter Cemetery in Elgin.

Born in Little Mountain, she was a daughter of the late John Andrew and Mattie Shealy Epting. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Gastonia, North Carolina Pallbearers will be Jack Hair, Danny Rogers, Tommy Hedgepath, Benny Porter and Elton and Ralph Epting.

Surviving are sons, C. Roger Porter of Lugoff and Furman R. Porter of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle P. Brown of Gastonia, North Carolina; brothers Hoyt Epting of Blythewood, Brooks and Olin Epting of Prosperity, and Homer Epting of Little Mountain; sisters Mrs. Daisy Waters and Mrs. Toy Bedenbaugh of Newberry; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis, 91, of Columbia, died yesterday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home and at the home of Furman R. Porter, 1700 Seay Ct., Columbia. (The State, Columbia, S. C. - May 16, 1987) 

Lucille Fetner

CAYCE - Services for Frances Lucille Norton Fetner, 78, of Cayce will be held at 11 am Monday, February 9, 2004 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Paul E. Aebischer, Rev. Ginny S. Aebischer, Intern Rafe Allison, and Rev. Dr. Charles W. Easley, with burial in Woodridge Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of
West Columbia. Memorials may be made to the Lion's Club Eye Bank or Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Fetner died February 5, 2004. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Mary Eliza Clary and James Corbett Norton, Sr. Mrs. Fetner was member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. She attended the University of South Carolina and had retired from Pacific Columbia Mills, M. Lowenstein and Springs Industries as an administrative assistant for more than 50 years.

Mrs. Fetner also served as past-president of the Greater Lionness Club.

Surviving are her husband Lucius B. ³Pete² Fetner; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Fetner and Joseph H. Warmoth of Rock Hill; sisters, Nancy N. Bromagen of Lexington, Kentucky, Linda N. Frayer of Irmo, Sandra N. Herbert of Columbia; brothers, William C. Norton of Blythewood, Richland County,  John Ray Norton of Columbia, Gerald Ned Norton of Leesville; granddaughters, Emily Kate Warmoth of Durham, North Carolina, Molly Warmoth and Rhett Watson of Easley; and a great granddaughter, Clary Elizabeth Watson.  (The State, Columbia, South Carolina, Saturday, February 7, 2004) 
 

Nina Seigler Derrick

IRMO-- Service for Nina Seigler Derrick, 90, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Main Street United Methodist Church, Columbia, with burial in Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Irmo. Rev. Howard Altman will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Grover Seigler Jr., Glen Enlow, Tommy Shealy, Frank Guerrero, Jay Wade and Rhett Brownlee. Visitation will be Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.

Mrs. Derrick, widow of O.B. "Barney" Derrick, died Thursday, December 14, 2006. Born in Irmo, she was a daughter of the late William Franklin Seigler and Hattie Richardson Seigler. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Circle 6, Kings Daughters, Working Circle, Daytime Fellowshippers of Virginia Wingard Memorial Methodist Church and Irmo Senior Fellowship Bowling League. She and the late Mr. Derrick were founding members of Virginia Wingard Memorial Methodist Church of St. Andrews.

Surviving are daughter and sonin- law, Katherine "Kathy" Brownlee and John T. Brownlee III of Irmo; grandson, Derrick P. Horton and his wife, Tara Horton; great-grandson, Fisher Horton of Blythewood; and brother, Grover W. Seigler Sr. of Irmo. She was predeceased by son, Robert E. "Bob" Derrick; sisters, Ethel Brown, Pearl Weed and Dessie Taylor; and brothers, H.F. and Roland Seigler.

Willie A. Folk

IRMO - Services for Willie A. Folk, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 20, 1999, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Ben Herlong. Memorials may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, or Lutheran Hospice, P.O. Box 502, White Rock 29177. Caughman-Harman Funeral Homes, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, is in charge.

Mr. Folk died Tuesday, May 18, 1999. Born in Irmo, he was a son of the late David W. and Lula Bouknight Folk. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, and an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was retired from Richtex Brick and a farmer.

Surviving are his children, Chloe F. Bailey, Bennie C. Folk and Patsy F. Kimball, all of Irmo, James O. Folk of Newberry; sisters, Julia F. Springfield of Greensboro, N.C., Thelma F. Hicks of Irmo; brother, Charley D. Folk of Irmo; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children, Willia Edward and Jimmy Lamar Folk, Mildred F. Williams. (State, The (Columbia, SC) - May 20, 1999)

Charley Folk Sr.

NEWBERRY - Service for Charley David Folk, Sr., 64, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Ballentine, with burial in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Bunnell, Tom Lewis, James Shealy, Wayne Hudson, Richard Stone and Jeff Simms. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund. Visitation will be Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo.

Mr. Folk died Friday, December 10, 2004. Born in Irmo, he was the son of the late David William "Moses" Folk and Mattie Irene Rister Folk. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father and papa.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Folk; sons and daughters-in-law, Charley D., Jr. and Sandra Faye Folk of Pomaria and Daniel William and Janice Shawn Folk of Newberry; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Richard Stone of Gaston and Tammy and Joseph Nathaniel Spires of Newberry; sister, Julia Springfield of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Ronald Northcutt, Billy Walker, Jr., Johnny Walker, William Walker, Cromer Spires, Allen Spires, Heather Spires, Jenna Folk, Mary Beth Folk and Steven Folk; great-grandchildren, Tandice Northcutt and Brian Walker; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, David Allen Folk; sisters, Thelma Hicks, Ellis Folk, Polly Jane Harrell, Edna Clark, Eva Lever and Mamie Brown; brother, Alton Folk; and granddaughter, Mattie Northcutt. Annie Derrick

COLUMBIA - Graveside service for Annie Florence Derrick, 96, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2001 in Shady Grove United Methodist Chuch Cemetery conducted by the Reverend W. Osborne Herlong. Shives Funeral Home was in charge.

Mrs. Derrick, wife of the late George E. Derrick, died Sunday, September 2, 2001. Born in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur J. Metz and Lottie Estelle Ellisor Metz. She was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church.

Survivors are sisters, Eula Chavis of Swansea, Virginia Flynn of Winsor, Massachusetts, and Blanche Amick of Irmo; brother, Haskell David Metz and his wife, Birdie of Irmo, and a niece, Patsy Mae Comalander of Chapin. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.

Judith "Judi" Derrick

CHAPIN -- A memorial service for Judith "Judi" Derrick will be held at 2 p.m. in Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Irmo, Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008. Judi was the daughter of Libby M. Derrick and the late John C. Derrick and died June 14, 2008. (State, The (Columbia, SC) - October 31, 2008)

Mrs. Raymond Figeroux

Died, in the 76th year of her age, Mrs. Raymond Figeroux, mother of Mr. B. Figeroux.  Her friends, those of Mr. And Mrs. B. Figeroux, and of Mr. And Mrs. Thos. E.
