Infant Foster
The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Foster died Saturday and was buried in the cemetery at this place Sunday. (The Carolina Spartan, May 31, 1882)

Lizzie Dean Fleming
Spartanburg, Jan. 22 - Mrs. Lizzie Dean Fleming, wife of the late Dr. C. E. Fleming, died this morning at 7 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. L. Robertson, in Middlesboro, Ky., where she was visiting when taken ill with pneumonia two weeks ago. Mrs. Fleming was taken ill noon after reaching Middlesboro and had recovered from the first attack but had not regained her strength as rapidly as was to be hoped though the members of her family here were advised only yesterday that her condition was satisfactory. Her death was a great shock to Spartanburg people. Mrs. Fleming was 71 years of age, a native of this city, being a daughter of the late Hoses Dean for many years a prominent citizen. She was president of the Spartan chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, when the Confederate monument was erected in this city a few years go and was deeply interested in that undertaking. Mrs. Fleming is survived by the following children: Mrs. J. W. Simpson, Mrs W. B. Liles, Mrs. E. S. Nott and E. E. Fleming of this city and Mrs. L. L. Robertson of Middlesboro. The remains will be brought to Spartanburg tomorrow and the funeral services will be held at the home of J. W. Simpson on east Main street. (The State January 23, 1915)

February 6th, at the residence of Mr. E. F. Davis, near Woodruff's, Spartanburg District, Mr. Paul T. Hudsen, aged 26 years, 10 months and 3 days. (The Charleston Mercury March 15, 1859)

Mrs. Helen Grimball
Spartanburg, July 4 - Mrs. Helen Grimball, formerly of Charleston, but a resident of Spartanburg for a number of years, died suddenly at Asheville, N.C., this morning, where she was visiting a daughter.  Mrs. Grimball is survived by her husband, H. M. Grimball, and serveral daughters.  It was announced that interment will take place in Magnolia cemetery in Charleston on Thursday morning. (The State - July 5, 1916)

Miss Cassy Farrow
Died...April 11th, at Spartanburg Court House, Miss Cassy Farrow (youngest daughter of Mr. Landon Farrow, of revolutionary memory), in the 60th year of her age. (The Charleston Mercury, May 3, 1858)

Mrs. Odell Giles
GREER - Mrs. Odell Westmoreland Giles, 62, of 210 Hubert Street, died Sunday night at 10:30 at the home of a son, Sanford Giles, Greer, Route 4, following an extended illness.  She was a daughter of the late Sanford P. and Susan Davis Westmoreland and was a life-long resident of Greer. Her husband, John W. Giles, died five years ago.  Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. C. H. Barron of Seneca, Mrs. J. B. Thomason, Mrs. Lewis Stover, Mrs. James Goodwin and Mrs. Tom Morris, all of Greenville, and Mrs. Rufus Nichols of Rock Hill; four sons, Sanford of Greer Route 4, Theron of Greer, Kenneth of Greenville, and Cpl. Donald Giles in Frankfort, Germany; one brother, H. T. Westmoreland Sr. of Greer Route 1; two sisters, Mrs. G. V. Hanna and Mrs. E. C. Tinsley, both of Greer; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  She was a member of Memorial Methodist Church at Greer.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. M. B. Patrick, assisted by the Rev. A. H. Bauknight. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.  The following nephews will serve as pallbearers; John and H. T. Westmoreland, Bralton Williams, Lawrence Smith, Vernon Young and Lee Hanna.  The body will remain at the mortuary.

Ernest A. Hill
Ernest A. Hill, 71, of 2064 Chesnee Highway, died 8 p.m. Saturday General Hospital after long illness.  Son of late William and Louanna Hill, retired textile worker, Member Liberty Methodist Church.  Survivors: wife, Mrs. Bertha Mae Powell Hill; daughter, Mrs. John Link Sr., Spartanburg; sons, Leonard N., Hugh Mac Hill, both Spartanburg; sisters, Mrs. Charles Sims, Spartanburg, Mrs. Willie Penland, Laurens; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.  J. Bertha Hill
Services for Bertha Mae Powell Hill, 82, of 2064 Chesnee Highway, widow of Ernest A. (Dock) Hill, 3 today at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel; burial in Sunset Memorial Park.  Family is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Guynema Link of 212 Floyd Road.  Mrs. Hill died Monday.  (The Herald Journal on November 18, 1981.....contributed by Andrew Staton)

Alice Hanna
Greer - Mrs. Alice Westmoreland Hanna, 88, of 100 South Ave., widow of George V. Hanna, died Thursday in Roger Huntington Nursing Center.   Native of Spartanburg County; daughter of the late Sanford P. and Electa Davis Westmoreland; member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving: son, Lee Hanna of Wagram, NC; daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Martin of Cramerton, NC, and Mrs. Beatrice Dickerson of Charlotte; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services 4 today at Wood Mortuary by Dr. Stewart Simms; burial in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers: Sanford and Theron Giles, Lawrence Smith, Nelson Green and James and Fred Hanna. Memorials may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church. (The Herald-Journal - March 2, 1974...contributed by Andrew Staton)

Died, at Landrum, S. C., on Monday morning, 27th instant, Isam Harrison infant son of Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Harrison, age three months. The body was brought to Walhalla Tuesday afternoon by F. IS. Harrison and interred in Wesview cemetery. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of many friends. [Keowee courier. (Pickens Court House, S.C.0, June 30, 1898]
