pg. 666 Lionel Kennedy, Spartanburg, S.C., of Scotch and English ancestry, was born in Charleston, S.C., June 17th, 1816. He was educated in Charleston, and graduated in March 1837, but did not commence practice till 1844 at the village of Spartanburg. In 1876 he was elected president of the medical society of his county. He held the position of surgeon in the field in the Confederate States army for two years, and then resigned on account of ill health. In 1843 he married Helen Fays. |
