     The petition of John M. Ashcraft sheweth that David Chambers died intestate seized and possessed of a tract of land in York district on the waters of Fishing Creek bounding on lands of Alexander Crawford and Harvey Crawford containing one hundred and seven acres more or less and having as his heirs at law ~ 

his sons William Chambers, Andrew J. Chambers & John M. Chambers & his daughters viz Martha wife of Sam'l Reid, Caroline Chambers since intermarried with Gregg Reid and Elizabeth Chambers since intermarried with John M. Ashcraft your petitioner ~ 

That since that time William Chambers has died intestate having as his heirs at law his wife Margaret Ann Chambers & three minor children viz John K. Chambers Agness Chambers & David J. Chambers 

Your petitioner further shews that Elizabeth Ashcraft has since died having as her heirs at law your petitioner her husband and her infant daughter Nancy Ashcraft
 

Your petitioner further shews that he is desirous that partition and division of said land should be made He therefor prays you to institute such proceedings as may be necessary therefor

Dec 28th 1849                                                

I hereby nominate & appoint John M. Ashcraft guardian ad litem of his daughter Nancy Ashcraft
