Ann's Cafe

Ann Decker owned "Ann's Cafe", located at 209 Dakota South; this building was previously the location for Sauer Cigar company, and the building's owner, John P. Sauer, rented the space to Mrs. Decker.  Her first cafe was on the corner of Dakota and 3rd Street, called the "Tip Top Cafe."

Ann Decker sold the cafe to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wing Chin, who moved to Huron from Aberdeen in October of 1961 to open a Chinese restaurant.  But on the evening of November 7, an overheating deep fryer resulted in fire gutting the building, and damaging the theater next door.
