Mrs. O. E. Lien of White, S. D., arrived in our city (Ortley) last Saturday for a few days’ visit with her sister Mrs. E. S. Thorsgaard.

Professor Jesse A. McArthur of Corsica has been elected principal of the Volga schools for the coming school year and has accepted the position.

Paul Davis, a boy employed at a Brookings fruit stand, found a tarantula in a bunch of bananas as he was waiting on a customer, and he narrowly escaped being bitten by the venomous insect.
Will Lindaman of Brookings county breathes the air of freedom because of an error of a justice who tried him for malicious mischief on a legal holiday. Lindaman appealed and won. He was accused of shooting two pigs belonging to a neighbor.
