Van Dyke – Smith

Payne – Wheelihan
In Aberdeen, South Dakota, at 8 P.M., September 22, 1891, by Rev. E. S. Wallace, Mr. Frank Payne and Miss Dollie Whellihan both of Warner. The friends of the newly married couple are legion in this vicinity, and hearty and numerous will be the congratulations extended them. After visiting a week in St. Paul and Minneapolis, to which points they departed last evening immediately after the ceremony, they will return to make their home in the vicinity of Warner. Both deserve the happiness that has come to them and the News has great pleasure in wishing them a long and prosperous career together.

Wylie – Nye
In Aberdeen, South Dakota, at 8 P.M., September 22, 1891, by the Rev. S. G. Updyke, Mr. James H. Wylie and Mrs. C. O. Nye, both of this city. The ceremony took place at the Wisconsin house of which the groom is proprietor. Mr. and Mrs. Wylie were among the passengers east last night, but after a brief absence will return to live among their friend in Aberdeen.

Stowell – Warren
In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, September 17, 1891, by the Rev. Mr. Ide, pastor of the Grand Avenue Congregational Church. Alderman Jacob R. Stowell of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Miss Almera W. Warren of Milwaukee. Mr. and Mrs. Stowell will be “at home” in this city after October 1st. “Alderman Jake” has perpetrated a great surprise upon his friends, but notwithstanding will be given a reception and welcome home which will be most hearty and spontaneous. The News congratulates “Jake” and wishes his bride much joy and happiness.

Gross – Lord

Hickman - Dawson

Cards are out announcing the marriage of Dr. George L. Hickman and Miss Marie Dawson at Pierre on June 3o.  George is well known here, having attended the Bath school in the days of Kirkpatrick.  The “Newlyweds” will be at home in Leola after July 20.  Congratulations.

Wager - Roehr

Miss Tena Roehr and Charles Wager were united in marriage at the Sacred Heart church in Aberdeen last Tuesday, in the presence of relatives and friends.  The bridesmaids were Miss Mary Roehr and Miss Marie Wager.  The best men were John Roehr and W. Wager.  The bridal party then drove to the bride’s home in Richland, where a large company of friends had gathered.  A bounteous dinner was served and all spent a very enjoyable afternoon and evening.  Mr. And Mrs. Wager were the recipients of many beautiful as well as useful gifts.  They have the best wishes of all for a long and happy life.  They left for North Dakota the latter part of the week, where they will make their home.

Seeman - Kennedy

Columbia, July 7 – A quiet wedding occurred Thursday afternoon at the home of Mr. And Mrs. C. K. Hayes when Mrs. Maud Kennedy was united in marriage to Dr. Seeman of Rockham, S.D.  Mrs. Seeman is a cousin of Mrs. Hayes and several years ago lived near Columbia but has lately been living at Litchfield, Minn.  Rev. Mr. Adams performed the marriage ceremony and the newly married couple departed on the four o’clock for their home at Rockham where Dr. Seeman is a practicing physician.  The best wishes of their friends here go with them.

Bingham - Swearingen

On Wednesday afternoon at 5 o’clock occurred the wedding of Guy G. Bingham to Mary J. Swearingen at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. And Mrs. Robert Swearingen.  Rev. S. E. Brown of the Methodist church performing the ceremony.  Only the immediate relatives of the young couple were present, the wedding being a very quiet affair.  The bride wore a dress of shadow lace voile over white while the groom was attired in the conventional blue.  The bride carried a shower bouquet of roses in pink and white.  Both the young people have been popular residents of Groton, having been there about ten years.  The bride is a graduate of the Groton schools.  Mr. And Mrs. Bingham will make their home with an uncle of the groom on a farm about three miles west of Claremont and they will be at home there after March 1st.  Their host of friends in Groton and vicinity extend wishes of a very prosperous future.
