RUSSELL FAMILY BIOGRAPHY

Richard Russell, born about 1791 in New York, married Permelia Duell/Duel/Deuel and settled in that part of Delaware County, Ohio, that was later attached to Morrow County. This couple had many children, some of whom are detailed in http://trees.ancestry.com/pt/person.aspx?pid=-1715376577&tid=3580315 in Ancestry.com. Plymouth and am willing to share.) One of Richard’s children was Seneca Russell.

Seneca Russell married Tabitha Rodgers in Delaware County, Ohio. (I have posted much of Seneca's history at http://www.genealogytrails.com/ill/whiteside/familyrussell.html ,)Later the couple settled in Whiteside County, Illinois, and had many children. One son William made his way into Grant County, South Dakota.

William’s line in Grant County apparently preserved the family names of Richard and Tabitha Russell. Perhaps some local family historian also preserved the names of the parents of the first Richard Russell. I have worked together bits and pieces about the Russell line in Grant County and have printed an outline of descendants below. I appreciate additions and corrections.
