EXHIBIT JAP SUB IN MILLER SEPT. 28
Music, Entertainment to Feature
Spectacular Exhibit, Bonds
Are Admission Tickets
For the first, and probably only time visitors to Miller next Tuesday, will have an opportunity for a close-up view of a captured Jap submarine.Admission to view the interior of the sub will be given for the purchase of bonds and stamps.
While program plans were still incomplete, tentative arrangements indicate the visit of the sub will make the day one long to be remembered.
A reception committee will meet the sub at the city limits at 10 o'clock, and it will be escorted to its location on south main street. The combined bands of Miller and St. Lawrence high schools will lead the parade. The exhibit will first be shown at 10:30.
The bond committee is hoping to have several representatives of the armed forces, who have seen foreign duty and are home on leave, make personal appearances, and autograph stamp books. There will also be talks by the official in charge of the submarine, and Attorney D.C. Walsh, secretary of the Miller Civic and Commerce Association. At various times there will be surprise stunts during the sub's three-hour stop in Miller.
Miller is the only town between Huron and Pierre where the sub will be shown, and a large crowd is expected from surrounding counties. Remember the date, Tuesday, September 28.
