John T. Nelson, Aged 19, a Dane.  With "J. T. N." tatooed on the back of one wrist.  Left Milt Young's Monday, January 23rd, eleven o'clock for Philip to get Milt's mail and have Milt's watch fixed.  Has a brother, Hans Hansen at Tabor, Bon Homme county, South Dakota.  Has an uncle, Andrew Larson, two miles west of Yankton.  Has been talking much lately of going to Lead to work in mines.  He has also been talking of taking a horse to his uncle's in Yankton.  Took Milt's open faced watch, 17 jewel, G. M. Wheeler movement, also took Milt's new $50.00 Duhammel-Ackerman saddle, new bridle and imitation Navajo blanket.  Rode a bay pony mare coming four years old, unbranded, weight 700 lbs.  Pony belongs to an uncle at Yankton.  Is a deserter from Danish navy and escaped from a reform school in Maryland.  Is under medium size man, slender, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, down-east yankee drawl, been in this country three or four years.
